They all believe the are doing the right thing - that's what propaganda does, it makes you believe you've come to benevolent conclusions by your own volition. That's what most of these reporters believe because they too have been brainwashed by their superiors. If you listen to the Zucker tapes, he very much speaks to the emotions of the staff and they all fall in line because they want to succeed and they want to impress him. They probably entered as leftist/liberals and are being honed into full-bore socialists without any kind of bribe or extort.
