VIDEO: Josh Hawley Slams Ron Johnson For Abandoning Trump On $1,200 Direct Stimulus Payments

"Go home and try explaining that to the people of your state," Hawley said. "Try telling them why this body can bail out the banks… [while] working people are living in their cars."

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MI) delivered a compelling rebuttal on the Senate floor to Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) after the latter blocked a bipartisan bill supported by President Donald Trump that would deliver $1,200 checks into the hands of working American families.

Johnson chose to directly oppose President Trump in his obstruction of the stimulus bill, claiming “past stimuluses” don’t “do much to stimulate the economy.” President Trump and Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin made history in 2020 by successfully fighting for the authorization of $1,200 and $2,400 payments to working families during crippling COVID lockdowns.

The Wisconsin senator argued that the solutions to helping the American people instead consist of “lowering regulation to a reasonable level” and having a “competitive tax system.”

Hawley offered up a strong rebuttal to Johnson’s arguments Friday, arguing that the relief packages proposed by establishment Republicans ignore working families and instead reward banks, Big Tech, and corporate business interests.

“Now, [Senator Johnson] is right, this body has spent trillions of dollars in this year alone on COVID relief. We’re getting ready to spend, apparently, another trillion dollars more. And yet working people are told, they may be last, if they get relief at all,” Hawley said.

“I just urge members of these bodies, go home and try explaining that to the people of your state,” the Missouri senator said. “Go ahead. Try telling them why this body can bail out the banks – we bailed out the banks to such a tune that they’ve got money left over.”

Hawley added, “Wall Street is doing great. Big Tech, they’re doing great. The big multinational corporations, fantastic. Working people, working people are living in their cars. Working people can’t go to the doctor. Working people can’t pay their rent. Working people can’t feed their children. They should be first, Mr. President, not last, and it is no answer for this body to tell them, ‘Go get in an unemployment line.'”

Georgia Poll Workers Who Raised Election Concerns Terminated

Poll workers in Georgia who raised concerns about election irregularities were informed this week that their contracts are not being renewed, according to letters obtained by Epoch Media Group.

Bridget Thorne and Susan Voyles say they witnessed abnormal actions taken during the election in Fulton County. They’ve spoken to news outlets and state legislators about what they saw.

In the new letters, Dwight Brower, elections consultant for the Fulton County Department of Registration and Elections, informs the women that Georgia law enables officials to appoint poll managers, and managers must be reappointed for each election event.

“There are many factors (management skills, performance, actions, behavior, etc.) considered prior to making reappointments for each primary or election. Unfortunately, a decision has been made to not reappoint you in a poll management or other poll positions in Fulton County,” Brower wrote.

“I see it as a direct consequence of my being honest,” Voyles told NTD, which is part of Epoch Media Group.

“In that oath, we say that I will, to the best of my abilities, make sure there is no fraud, deceit—it kind of goes on down like this,” Voyles added. “So I saw what I was doing was an extension of my job as a poll manager. In other words, I had seen fraud I had seen deceit, I had seen the things that in our poll reading we were warned to stay away from and to report if we see them. I did, and in this case, at this point, the truth was not received well.”

A Fulton County spokeswoman didn’t respond to requests for comment.

Garland Favorito, co-founder of watchdog group Voters Organized for Trusted Election Results in Georgia, told NTD that the poll workers being terminated is worrisome.

“It’s a tremendous concern, not just for me, but for all the voters in the state of Georgia who are informed about this situation. Because basically, these whistleblowers, who are trying to correct the fraud in Fulton County, have now been terminated,” he said. “And the people who actually appear to have committed the fraud on election night, by illegally scanning 20,000 ballots into the Fulton County system after they told the monitors that we’re not going to scan anymore, those people appear to still be able to count the votes for the upcoming U.S. Senate race. So everyone is asking, ‘Why?'”

Kevin McCarthy Says DNI John Ratcliffe Delivered the Report on Swalwell

This is big news–

FOX News reporter Chad Pergram reported late Friday afternoon the DNI John Ratcliffe delivered the report on Eric Swalwell today

The report due today was mandated by an executive order by President Trump.

The FBI on Friday briefed GOP Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Speaker Pelosi on Democrat Rep. Eric Swalwell’s relationship with Chinse spy Fang Fang.

McCarthy emerged from the briefing Friday afternoon and told reporters at the Capitol that Swalwell ‘should not be on intel’ committee.

“I just think there are definitely 200 other Democrats that I know could fill that place,” McCarthy said.

Swalwell currently sits on the House Intelligence Committee and has access to some of the nation’s most highly classified information.

Biden aide says Pentagon DID stop transition meetings, amid speculation Trump is preparing to ‘cross the Rubicon’

Joe Biden’s transition team said there was no agreement on pausing meetings over the holidays, contradicting the Pentagon, as confusion mounted in Washington and some supporters urged President Donald Trump to make like Caesar.

A sensationally titled Axios report claimed on Friday that Trump’s acting Defense Secretary Chris Miller had ordered a “total halt” to briefings and meetings with Biden’s transition staff, citing anonymous officials as saying it was to give the Pentagon staff a break for the holidays.

“This isn’t true,” former acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell tweeted back at Axios, calling their story “click bait reporting” driven by politically motivated sources with agendas.

This isn’t true. The current Pentagon team has given more transition meetings than were given in 2016. These anonymous sources have political agendas and it’s definitely not about sharing facts. This is click bait reporting. https://t.co/ghmZNM1YxE

— Richard Grenell (@RichardGrenell) December 18, 2020

Apparently prompted by the Axios report, Miller issued a statement on Friday afternoon confirming that the meetings have been “rescheduled” and will continue “after the mutually-agreed upon holiday pause, which begins tomorrow.”

Yohannes Abraham, executive director of Biden’s transition team, told reporters that no such agreement existed, however. “We were concerned to learn this week about an abrupt halt in the already limited cooperation there,” Abraham said, according to Reuters.

NEW: @YohannesAbraham makes it plain: "There was no mutually agreed-upon holiday break. In fact, we believe it's important" the briefings continue "as there's no time to spare" in preparing for national security contingencies. Transition team informed yesterday mtgs would end

— Paul D. Shinkman (@PDShinkman) December 18, 2020

“There was no mutually agreed-upon holiday break,” he reportedly said, adding that he expects the DOD to reverse the decision and continue the briefings, “as there's no time to spare” in preparing for national security contingencies.

Miller and several other officials, described by mainstream media as “Trump loyalists,” came in from the National Security Council after the ouster of Defense Secretary Mark Esper and resignations of several of his aides last month.

US prosecutors ask judge to reject Ghislaine Maxwell’s bail request, claim Epstein’s alleged madam is an ‘extreme flight risk’

Prosecutors in New York have urged a federal judge to deny bail to Ghislaine Maxwell, deceased pedophile Jeffrey Epstein’s former associate who allegedly procured underage girls for the notorious sex offender.

Maxwell, who is charged with recruiting and grooming girls as young as 14 to engage in sex acts with Epstein throughout the 1990s, requested a $28.5 million bail package this week, with her lawyers arguing that the media has “ruthlessly vilified her and prejudged her guilt.”

In a filing to the US District Court in Manhattan on Friday, government prosecutors urged the court to deny her request, writing that the charges against Maxwell are “incredibly serious” and backed by strong evidence, and that the disgraced socialite poses an “extreme flight risk.”

Maxwell has been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since her arrest in New Hampshire in early July. Her lawyers have complained about the dire conditions of her cell, claiming that similar “negligence” drove Epstein to kill himself in Manhattan’s Metropolitan Correctional Center a year earlier.

District Judge Alison Nathan already rejected a $5 million bail package for Maxwell in July, deeming the suspect a flight risk based on her holding multiple passports. Prosecutors said on Friday that Maxwell has already transferred most of her assets to her husband, demonstrating an ability to “hide her true wealth,” and proving she could “absolutely afford” to flee the US.

Maxwell’s trial is due to begin in July of next year.

Manchester police chief resigns as force placed under watchdog monitoring for letting 80,000 crimes go unrecorded

The chief constable of Greater Manchester Police (GMP) has resigned and the force was placed under 'special measures,' after a scathing report found it failed to record 80,000 crimes in a year, including domestic abuse cases.

Ian Hopkins, who spent 13 years in the top job, announced his resignation in a statement on Friday, saying the "challenging" issues faced by GMP should be addressed by a new chief constable.

"Considering what is best for GMP and the communities we serve, and given my current ill health, I have decided to stand down from the post of Chief Constable with immediate effect," he said, adding that it had been an "honour" to serve the public.

It follows the revelations that around 220 crimes a day went unrecorded in Greater Manchester in the year up to June 2020, according to a report by HM Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Services, published last week.

Inspectors found that GMP had failed to safeguard victims of harassment, stalking and domestic abuse, as well as vulnerable adults and children.

On Thursday, the force was placed into an "advanced phase" of monitoring over the watchdog's findings, which included that one in five of all crimes –and one in four violent crimes– reported to GMP were not recorded by the force.

Andy Burnham, the Labour Mayor of Greater Manchester, has also been called on to tender his resignation over the failings, due to his responsibilities for the governance and budgeting of GMP.

Conservative MP for Bolton West Chris Green said the Mayor should "resign now" due to his "absolute authority" over policing in Greater Manchester.

Pressed as to why he had not also quit, Burnham said on Friday: "I'm doing the job I was elected to do," adding that he does not actually run GMP.

The mayor, who recently won plaudits for his bid to secure government cash for lockdown-hit businesses in Greater Manchester, apologised on behalf of GMP last week following the publication of the report.

Progressive Groups Push Biden to Tap Accused Iranian Lobbyist for Top National-Security Role

As an Iranian national, Trita Parsi probably cannot get security clearance, say experts

A coalition of progressive foreign-policy groups is pressing President-elect Joe Biden to hire an Iranian national accused of lobbying for the Islamist regime for a senior administration role that a non-U.S. citizen would likely be ineligible to hold.

As Biden forms his future cabinet, groups on the Democratic Party's far-left flank are organizing to pressure him into hiring a roster of individuals who would typically be left out of the White House. The roster includes foreign-policy hands who have pushed for increasing American diplomacy with Iran and reducing cooperation between the United States and Israel. The list of more than 100 staff recommendations was first reported by Politico, which declined to publish it in full. The Washington Free Beacon obtained a full copy of the list.

'A bit too transparent'? Pfizer fumes as Belgian official leaks all VACCINE PRICES for EU in 'unintended' Twitter post

The shroud of secrecy over the Covid-19 vaccines' prices was suddenly lifted, when Belgian MP Eva De Bleeker published a tweet detailing how much the EU is paying to six pharma companies for each shot.

Brussels has for months been insisting it is legally restricted from revealing any details on the price of the coronavirus vaccines, but that didn't stop the senior official from blowing the lid late on Thursday.

De Bleeker, who is Belgium's State Secretary for Budget and Consumer Protection, quickly realized her blunder and deleted the post with the price list, but it was too late, as local media outlets had already made screenshots of it.

The post listed the prices per dose of vaccines purchased by the European Union as follows: Oxford/AstraZeneca: €1.78; Johnson & Johnson: $8.50; Sanofi/GSK: €7.56; BioNTech/Pfizer: €12; CureVac: €10; and Moderna: $18.

— Apotheek Valkenburg | Valkenburg ZH (@Apo_Valkenburg) December 18, 2020

The figures revealed by De Bleeker didn't factor in the non-refundable downpayments of hundreds of millions made by the bloc to pharma companies to secure the vaccines, an EU official later clarified to Reuters.

De Bleeker published the price list after a 30-hour-long parliamentary debate on the Belgian budget. During the discussions, the opposition had complained that the budget hadn't included any data regarding the government's spending on vaccines against the virus, which has already infected more than 618,000 and killed some 18,400 in the country.

The official initially tried to say the leak of the prices was a "mistake" by her communications team. But her fellow MPs weren't satisfied with that explanation and summoned the official to the parliament. They wanted to know if the incident was going to have implications for Belgium and its fight against Covid-19.

Blackstone Will Soon Be Turning Around And Selling The Data From Companies It Acquires

In the past, we have noted incessant demand to buy all types of data - it's why companies like LinkedIn and Fitbit were eventually acquired, it exists at places like your local shopping mall, and it's the crux of many successful hedge funds.

That's why it isn't too much of a surprise to hear that Blackstone's plans for its buyout unit could literally be packaging and selling the data it acquires when it acquires new companies. Bloomberg described the technique as "turning insights that Wall Street powerhouses usually guard closely into a new revenue stream".

Buyers of the data could include hedge funds looking for a trading edge and corporations who could buy it for research or advertising purposes, Bloomberg noted. While Blackstone calls the idea "exploratory" and says that “nothing has been sold on behalf of our portfolio companies or Blackstone," we think the fact that the idea has hit the U.S. financial press means it is likely being strongly considered, if not already implemented.

Further, Blackstone has already made disclosures admitting that the proverbial wheels are already in motion:

This year, Blackstone units disclosed that the firm may provide its future acquisitions data-management services, described as gathering, processing, curating and transforming information “for monetization through licensing or sale arrangements with third parties.” In turn, companies would pay Blackstone a share of the revenue generated, as well as cost reimbursement, according to the filings. No payments would be shared with fund investors, nor used to offset management fees. Data sales prospects might be a factor in future deals, the disclosures show.

A spokesman for Blackstone said the data “is fully anonymized and includes best-in-class privacy and compliance protections.”

Blackstone currently holds stakes in about 97 companies through various private equity funds and "already has information sharing and usage agreements in place that permit it to obtain data from portfolio companies owned by its funds".

Benjamin Phillips, chief strategist at Deloitte Consulting LLP’s Casey Quirk unit, told Bloomberg: “Asset managers are struggling with, ‘How can we monetize our intellectual property differently?’ Are there different ways to repackage that lightning in a bottle?”

Pfizer, Feds at Odds Over Blame for Potential 2nd Vaccine Shipment Cuts Next Week

More than a dozen states complained this week that they were alerted that their second shipment of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine doses next week will be drastically less than initially projected, sparking a row between Pfizer and the federal government about who is to blame.

The situation has prompted “widespread confusion and conflicting statements from Pfizer and federal officials about who was at fault,” the Washington Post reported Thursday.

Federal officials are reportedly holding hundreds of thousands of doses in warehouses on hold in case of unexpected problems.

Citing Trump Administration officials who spoke to the Associated Press (AP) on condition of anonymity, Spectrum News from California, the most populous state and the new pandemic epicenter in America, noted, echoing other news outlets:

States will receive their full allocations, one [unnamed administration] official said, but misunderstandings about vaccine supply and changes to the delivery schedule may be creating confusion.

Another official said the initial numbers of available doses that were provided to states were projections based on information from the manufacturers, not fixed allocations. Some state officials may have misunderstood that, the official said.

The federal officials said Pfizer committed to providing 6.4 million doses of its vaccine in the first week after approval [last Friday]. But the federal Operation Warp Speed had already planned to distribute only 2.9 million of those doses right away.

Another 2.9 million were to be held at Pfizer’s warehouse to guarantee that individuals vaccinated the first week would be able to get their second shot later to make protection fully effective. Finally, the government is holding an additional 500,000 doses as a reserve against unforeseen problems.

Even before U.S. regulators approved the Pfizer vaccine candidate, supply-chain obstacles forced the company to reduce its vaccine rollout target by half, the Wall Street Journal noted on December 3.

Pfizer shifted the blame for several states potentially receiving fewer doses next week to the federal government in a statement issued Thursday that contradicted what named and anonymous officials described as the issue.

The company insisted it has “continuously shared” information about their production process with Operation Warp Speed officials.

Operation Warp Speed refers to the Trump Administration’s multi-billion dollar public-private effort to develop a vaccine and therapeutics in record time. Until last Friday, there were no vaccines approved to combat coronaviruses in humans.

'Guardians' of the Galaxy: Pence Announces Name of Space Force Members

Space Force members have an official new name: Guardians, Vice President Mike Pence announced Friday.

"Soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines and Guardians will be defending our nation for generations to come," Pence said during a ceremony to commemorate the Space Force's 1st birthday, coming up on Dec. 20.

Pence was flanked by Chief of Space Operations Gen. John Raymond, Acting Defense Secretary Chris Miller and Air Force Secretary Barbara Barrett at the White House.

Space enthusiasts and military members were quick to point out the name 'Guardians,' evokes the Marvel Comics' "Guardians of the Galaxy" film franchise, about a motley crew of superheroes in space.

The announcement comes hours after Air Force astronaut Col. Michael "Hopper" Hopkins transferred into the Space Force onboard the International Space Station, and a few days after Raymond was made an official member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

The name change from space professionals or space warfighters, the generic term used before the official name was announced follows the introduction of the service's official logo, which reprises the use of the delta symbol from the Space Force's seal and flag.

In July, officials introduced the logo accompanied with its formal motto, "Semper Supra," which translates from Latin as "always above."

The Space Force's seal, which also uses a delta, was unveiled by President Donald Trump in a tweet in January; in May, the president hosted Barrett, Raymond, and Chief Master Sgt. Roger Towberman, senior enlisted adviser to the Space Force, during a ceremony to present the flag at the White House.

With each unveiling, users on social media have been quick to point out that the insignia is highly reminiscent of the "Star Trek" Starfleet Command logo; but the military says the symbol is part of its history, too.

The newest military branch has also debuted dark navy-colored name tape for its uniforms, a lapel pin, guidance on camouflage uniform wear (like the Army and Air Force, Space Force members wear the Operational Camouflage Pattern as the official service duty uniform); three commercials; and its organizational structure.

Pending Space Force decisions include formal dress uniform updates, insignia patches, a rank structure, among others.

Media Blackout: Moderna’s FDA Report Lists 13 Deaths in Vaccine Trials — 6 in Vaccine Group, 7 in Placebo

The Pfizer Covid vaccine is already being administered to the public in the UK, and the first doses have been given in the US ahead of a mass vaccination campaign on a global scale.

It is important to recognize that the Pfizer Covid vaccine has not been approved by the FDA. It has only received Emergency Use Authorization (EUA), meaning the vaccine has not gone through the standard process to get official approval from the regulatory agency.

Now Moderna’s experimental Covid vaccine is set to get the same Emergency Use Authorization, allowing the shot to be distributed to millions of people.
