Author of UK Catholic sex education book convicted as pedophile

Church leaders did not report allegations to the police against the priest, who helped to bring sex education into Catholic schools 20 years

ago.

Father Joseph Quigley of the Archdiocese of Birmingham, England was convicted this week of sexual activity with a child, sexual assault, false imprisonment (he liked to lock children in a crypt) and cruelty. One case against him dated from the 1990s, another concerned his actions between 2006 and 2008.

The Archdiocese, headed until 2009 by Vincent Nichols, now the Cardinal Archbishop of Birmingham, and since then by Archbishop Bernard Longley, failed to report Quigley to the police when they learned of one set of his crimes in 2008. Instead, they flew him to the United States for “rehabilitation” in a specialist clinic and subsequently allowed him to return to work in the UK.

After that, he was supposedly under “restrictions,” but managed somehow to celebrate Mass at a school in 2009, and he was commissioned by the Archdiocese to carry out a school inspection in 2011.

What were they thinking? Well, as a matter of fact, Quigley supposedly had considerable expertise in education. If he had been diagnosed as a “a sexual sadist and voyeur,” what did that matter? Let me quote the report in the UK’s liberal Catholic weekly, The Tablet.

At the time that the first allegations against Quigley were made in 2008, he was both director of education for the Birmingham archdiocese and national adviser on religious education for the Catholic Education Service (CES), of which Archbishop Nichols was chair. …

For years Quigley had been a much-respected expert on Catholic education. In 2001 he produced Birmingham’s sex education manual, All That I Am, in which he recommended children of nine should be taught about sex. This led him to be consulted by the authors of a Department of Health study on sexuality. In it he was quoted as saying for children, sexual “maturation is taking place earlier. We don’t want to leave children hostage to society. If we talk about sexuality as a gift, clearly we want to introduce them to that at an appropriate level.”

The All That I Am book was a trailblazer in bringing sex education into Catholic schools 20 years ago. What sort of a person wants to “introduce” children to sexuality at age nine? The question answers itself. And yet now we have state-mandated sex education directed at even younger children, and the Bishops of England and Wales, fresh from adopting into approved lesson-plans materials copied and pasted from radical homosexual campaigning groups, remain in deep denial about the problem.

It is interesting, with hindsight, to see Quigley defending All That I Am against criticisms made in the pages of the magazine of the UK Faith Movement in 2007: Father Ian Fleming, responding to Quigley, reiterates his initial complaints that the program failed to set out coherently a Catholic attitude to sexuality, introduced “natural family planning” as if it was another form of contraception, and dismissed the issue of homosexuality with a warning against the use of scriptural “proof texts” and a bowdlerized quotation from the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

3 more Alaska health workers have adverse reactions to COVID-19 vaccine, bringing total to 5

A Fairbanks health care worker was treated for a “probable” serious allergic reaction on Thursday after she received the COVID-19 vaccine, according to the Foundation Health Partners care system.

Additionally, on Friday evening, Providence Alaska reported that two caregivers who received the COVID-19 vaccine experienced non-life-threatening, mild reactions.

In total, five Alaskans have experienced adverse reactions this week after receiving the vaccine. Two Bartlett Regional Hospital employees in Juneau experienced reactions after the vaccine, one serious and one mild.

Providence Alaska spokesman Mikal Canfield said that due to privacy laws, they could not provide additional information. But the three other health workers who experienced reactions to the vaccine all are doing well. None are still hospitalized, and the three workers have recommended that others continue to receive the vaccination — which is expected to be one of the most important tools in ending the pandemic, officials say.

The Fairbanks worker started to show what hospital officials described as “traditional anaphylactic symptoms,” including tongue swelling, voice hoarseness and difficulty breathing, roughly 10 minutes after getting vaccinated, Foundation Health Partners spokeswoman Kelly Atlee wrote in an emailed statement Friday morning.

She was taken to the Fairbanks Memorial Hospital emergency department and treated with epinephrine before being discharged six hours later. The worker does not have a history of allergies, but did have a reaction to a bee sting that was not confirmed as an allergic reaction, Atlee said. Thursday was the first anaphylactic event that the worker experienced.

The vaccine has been safely administered to thousands of Americans nationwide this week. Health officials have emphasized that allergic reactions are rare.

Antarctica hit by 30 000 earthquakes in 3 months

More than 30 000 earthquakes have been registered in the Bransfield Strait, an ocean channel between the South Shetland Islands and the Antarctic Peninsula, since the end of August 2020, according to the University of Chile. The strait is now expanding 15 cm (6 inches) per year from the Antarctic Peninsula, nearly 20 times faster than before.

The strongest earthquake in the sequence was M6.0 at a depth of 15 km (9 miles) at 23:49 UTC on November 6.

According to the National Seismological Center at the University of Chile, the swarm is centered in the Bransfield Strait, a 96 km (60 miles) ocean channel between the South Shetland Islands and the Antarctic Peninsula.

The center said several tectonic plates and microplates meet in this area, leading to frequent rumbling, but the past three months have been unusual.

Most of the seismicity is concentrated at the beginning of the sequence, mainly during the month of September, with more than a thousand earthquakes a day, the center said, as reported by Reuters.

Due to these frequent earthquakes, the strait is now expanding from the Antarctic Peninsula about 15 cm (6 inches) per year, nearly 20 times faster than before (7 to 8 mm (0.30 inch) per year).

Fort Hood's Top Enlisted Soldier Suspended, Investigation Pending

AUSTIN, Texas – The senior enlisted soldier at Fort Hood was suspended Friday while the Army investigates allegations of unprofessional behavior inconsistent with the values of the service, according to base officials.

Lt. Gen. Pat White, commander of III Corps and Fort Hood, issued the temporary suspension of Command Sgt. Maj. Arthur "Cliff" Burgoyne, the senior noncommissioned officer of III Corps and Fort Hood, according to a news release from Army Forces Command, known as FORSCOM.

FORSCOM will conduct an investigation into the allegations.

"We will wait for a full accounting of the facts and will not presuppose any findings or outcomes," said Col. Myles B. Caggins III, spokesman for III Corps.

The suspension was not related to a recent report about Fort Hood that found the command climate and culture at the Texas Army base had significant faults, particularly related to sexual harassment and assault, according to a military official who spoke on the condition of anonymity. Following the report's release, the Army fired or suspended 14 Fort Hood leaders.

The allegation is related to a specific incident where the language that Burgoyne used to address subordinates did not meet the standards expected of a corps-level command sergeant major, the military official said.

Burgoyne's suspension is a "temporary removal" and "not punitive in nature," according to base officials. The new investigation triggered by the allegations against him is unrelated to ongoing investigations sparked by the disappearance and death of Spc. Vanessa Guillen, who was killed April 22 by a fellow soldier, according to base officials.

The investigation is expected to be completed next month, the military official said.

Burgoyne, who came to Fort Hood after serving as the senior NCO of the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, has deployed three times each to Iraq and Afghanistan, according to his official biography.

He joined the Army in September 1986 with the Louisiana National Guard and entered active duty at Fort Hood, Texas, in December 1992. His awards include two Legions of Merit, three Bronze Star medals and a Ranger tab.

US Closing Last Two Consulates in Russia

Move will leave US embassy in Moscow as only US diplomatic mission in Russia

The Trump administration informed Congress of its plans to close the last two US consulates in Russia, leaving the US embassy in Moscow as the only US diplomatic mission in the country.

The State Department sent a letter to congressional leaders on December 10th that said the US is permanently closing its consulate in Vladivostok, and temporarily halting operations at the consulate in Yekaterinburg.

According to the letter, the US is shuttering the consulates due to caps set by Moscow on the number of diplomats allowed in the country. In 2017, Russian President Vladimir Putin set new limits on the number of US diplomatic employees in response to US sanctions.

The letter says the move is “in response to ongoing staffing challenges of the US Mission in Russia in the wake of the 2017 Russian-imposed personnel cap on the US Mission and resultant impasse with Russia over diplomatic visas.”

In December 2016, then-President Barack Obama expelled 35 Russian diplomats for Moscow’s alleged interference in the presidential election, which was never substantiated. Putin chose not to retaliate against Obama’s move.

The news comes at a sensitive time for US-Russia relations. Several US government agencies were targeted in a major cyberattack that many in the US are blaming on Russia, despite a lack of evidence to show Moscow was involved.

Some senators are calling for retaliation against Russia. Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) even likened it to a “virtual invasion.” But the shuttering of the consulates does not appear to be connected to the cyberattack since the administration informed Congress a few days before the hack was reported.

The Hidden Truth About The NDAA 2021

The U.S. Senate recently voted 84 to 13 in favor of the 2021 version of the annual military budget, the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). The Senate’s vote follows a 335 to 78 vote by the House of Representatives. Despite promises of a veto from Donald Trump, the bill currently has a veto-proof two-thirds majority in both the House and Senate. Trump has until December 23rd to decide if he try to veto the $740.5 billion bill.

Most of the media discussion about the 2021 NDAA has revolved around two issues: Trump’s opposition to renaming military bases named after Confederate war heroes and the battle over Section 230 of the Communication Act.

Trump has stated that his admin “will not even consider the renaming of these Magnificent and Fabled Military Installations”. He also threatened to veto the massive spending bill if Section 230 of the Communication Act was not “completely terminated” to allow internet providers and Big Tech companies like Facebook and Twitter to be held legally liable for the content on their websites. Trump has argued the social media giants should be treated like publishers to reduce online censorship or deletion of content falsely labeled “misinformation”.

While the discussions about the names of military bases and Section 230 arguably have their place in a discussion on the 2021 NDAA, an exclusive focus on these topics ignores troubling concerns in the remainder of the bill.

Indefinite War, Indefinite Detention

White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany stated that Trump is concerned about a provision in the bill relating to troop withdrawal and deployment in Afghanistan, South Korea, and Germany. The NDAA includes amendments that seek to block planned troop drawdowns from Afghanistan and Germany. If these new amendments are included in the bill it would require a review from several government agencies prior to any future troop withdrawals.

On December 10, Senator Rand Paul spoke out about provisions in the NDAA 2021, stating that the new bill would prevent future presidents from being able to withdraw troops without consulting with Congress first. Paul said these provisions would prolong the failed War on Terror.

The process takes a few minutes, with lots of checking and rechecking, and the doctor then attempts to inject Netanyahu in his left arm. The prime minister, who is left-handed, redirects him to his right arm.

“A small injection for a man and a giant step for the health of us all,” Netanyahu says after receiving the vaccine. He wishes “every success” for the vaccination drive, and urges all Israelis to “go get vaccinated.”

Obamas, Clintons and communist China all linked to SolarWinds

News about the SolarWinds Orion hack is generating a lot of questions about what this company is and who is behind it. What we know so far is that its corporate ties include gems like communist China, the Clintons and the Obamas.

In 2016, according to the company’s 10K on the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) website, SolarWinds was acquired by investment firms Silver Lake Partners and Thoma Bravo. Two years later, the company went public through an Initial Public Offering (IPO).

Later that year, SolarWinds’ IPO was completed, and 25 million shares of the company’s common stock were sold at an issue price of $15 per share. During this process, the company raised $375 million in gross proceeds, and approximately $353 million in net proceeds.

Before SolarWinds went public, however, and before it was purchased by Thoma Bravo and Silver Lake, it was founded by a Puerto Rican billionaire by the name of Orlando Bravo who contributed $100,000 to Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign for the presidency.

Bravo also made two contributions of $125,000 each to the far-left Democrat PAC “Vote for Vets.”

In 2009, Thoma Bravo purchased a company called Entrust that appears to have been sold to the Datacard group in 2013. Entrust, it turns out, works alongside a company called DigitCert to verify elections for a least half of the states in our country.

“Entrust is also closely related to a firm by the name of ‘Live Ramp’ which is located in Shanghai,” notes Joe Hoft, writing for The Gateway Pundit. “In summary, Thoma Bravo is one of the owners of SolarWinds and it also is connected to the firms that validate elections for at least half the states in the U.S.”

Why do the Clintons and the Obamas always seem to be connected to criminal activity?

As for Silver Lake, co-founder Glenn Hutchins is on the board of AT&T. He is also a former advisor to Bill Clinton and currently sits on the board of the Obama Foundation.

“Nothing to see here,” tweeted Dr. Carroll Quigley, adding that Hutchins is associated with the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), Brookings, the Hamilton Project, and other questionable organizations. Hutchins is also a friend of both the Clintons and the Obamas.

Dr. Quigley wrote in another tweet that after Hutchins left Silver Lake in 2018, he assigned the company a new class of managing partners. One of them is Hong Kong-based billionaire Kenneth Hao, who also just so happens to sit on the board of SolarWinds.

In other words, a revolving door of Democrat politicians and their corporate allies is feeding in and out of key companies and other organizations that are all, in some way, associated with running elections in our nation.

A Pandemic of ‘Russian Hacking’

Neither the actor, nor the motive, nor the damage done is known for certain in this latest scare story.

The hyperbolic, evidence-free media reports on the “fresh outbreak” of the Russian-hacking disease seems an obvious attempt by intelligence to handcuff President-elect Joe Biden into a strong anti-Russian posture as he prepares to enter the White House.

Biden might well need to be inoculated against the Russophobe fever.

There are obvious Biden intentions worrying the intelligence agencies, such as renewing the Iran nuclear deal and restarting talks on strategic arms limitation with Russia. Both carry the inherent “risk” of thawing the new Cold War.

Instead, New Cold Warriors are bent on preventing any such rapprochement with strong support from the intelligence community’s mouthpiece media. U.S. hardliners are clearly still on the rise.

Interestingly, this latest hack story came out a day before the Electoral College formally elected Biden, and after the intelligence community, despite numerous previous warnings, said nothing about Russia interfering in the election. One wonders whether that would have been the assessment had Trump won.

Instead Russia decided to hack the U.S. government.

Except there is (typically) no hard evidence pinning it on Moscow.

Uncertainties

The official story is Russia hacked into U.S. “government networks, including in the Treasury and Commerce Departments,” as David Sanger of The New York Times reported.

But plenty of things are uncertain. First, Sanger wrote last Sunday that “hackers have had free rein for much of the year, though it is not clear how many email and other systems they chose to enter.”

The motive of the hack is uncertain, as well what damage may have been done.

“The motive for the attack on the agency and the Treasury Department remains elusive, two people familiar with the matter said,” Sanger reported. “One government official said it was too soon to tell how damaging the attacks were and how much material was lost.”

President Trump on Saturday claimed China "may" have been behind a massive cyberattack on U.S. government systems – a day after Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the attack was "pretty clearly" perpetrated by Russians.

Trump downplayed the attack, dubbed by one U.S. official as "the worst hacking case in the history of America," as "far greater in the Fake News Media than in actuality."

He then used the attack to fuel his claims that he did not lose the election to President-elect Joe Biden, claiming there "could also have been a hit on our ridiculous voting machines during the election, which is now obvious that I won big, making it an even more corrupted embarrassment for the USA."

Trump has disputed the results of the election, which has been certified as having been won by Biden, and has launched a number of mostly unsuccessful legal challenges in key swing states.

But his claim that China could have been responsible for the attack contradicts Pompeo, who on Friday linked the Kremlin to the attack.

Thousands of protesters in Taiwan rally support Trump and take down the CCP

A protest organized by the Epoch Times in Taiwan, was held in front of Xinyi Square next to the Taipei 101 Building at 19 December, 1 pm. The theme of this rally was supporting President Trump and taking down the CCP.

The voice of these anxious netizens is clear: they showed the Taiwanese people that they want truth and they support President Trump.
