Considering the doses given must be well into the thousands by now, that's not too bad. Anaphylactic shock is not something to sneeze at (particularly in the elderly, I imagine) but it is treatable. The other side effects - pain and swelling at the injection site, low-grade fever - are just signs that your immune system is working, responding to the vaccine by starting antibody production and other immune cell responses.
