>messiah

A criticism of Q and the Great Awakening is that it appeals to the messianic savior archetype - that ALL we have to do is believe in Q as our "savior" and all will be good. But, Q's wisdom is much deeper and more ancient. It reminds me of Zarathushtra's teachings of what it takes to be a "saoshyant" – a savior, a redeemer, or a "truth seeker", someone with "good thinking" (Logos) who seeks, knows, and speaks the Truth.

Zarathushtra described evil as a primordial force that we create in our existence. We bring evil to life, we give it substance, we make it real,

…when we choose to believe in falsehood with our thoughts, words and actions

Therefore, a key to the destruction of evil and the suffering it causes is making the right choices in life.

With the rise of Zoroastrianism and later Judaism, the concept of a "saoshyant" became greatly exaggerated by the priestly casts to the point of elevating its status to that of a super-human "Messiah" of great power who would come save us from evil. While this super-human view of the "saoshyant" is not found in the ancient Zoroastrian texts, known as the Gathas, it was not a coincidence that Christ's birth was prophesied by the three Wise Men from the East (Zoroastrian Magi).

According to Zarathushtra, each human being is a potential "saoshyant" – a potential redeemer or savior of mankind. In this ancient context, Christ was a "saoshyant" for his "good thinking" and his pursuit of the Truth.

"Know ye the Truth and the Truth shall set ye Free."

In the Gathas, Zarathushtra asks: "…which men shall stop the cruelty (caused) by the violent deceitful persons? To which man shall come the understanding stemming from good thinking?" (Y48.11). Yes, those men shall be the saviors [saoshyanto] of the lands, namely, those who shall follow their knowledge of Thy teaching with actions in harmony with good thinking and with Truth [asha], Wise One. These indeed have been fated to be the expellers of fury." (The Gathas Y48.12).

We have to fix things ourselves, with God's help, and with the help of each other. But, this starts with "Logical Thinking" (Logos) and "Trusting in Yourself" to choose Truth over Falsehood. And this is precisely what Q encourages us to do.
