The time of the Revelation (singular) started when the Revelation was given.

It won't end until Christ's return.

Since then,

His Congregation has undergone tribulation (woe) at the hands of the Harlot,

and later continued tribulation (woe) from her Man of Sin.

It's been unfolding all along.

The Two Witnesses have been those rebuking the Harlot.

The Two Witnesses are Lampstands.

The interpretation for Lampstands was provided by the Alpha and Omega at the beginning of the Revelation.

He said a "lampstand" is a congregation.

When Christ walked the earth during His first advent,

He said He had two flocks (congregations) to bring into His fold.

He was at that time preaching only to His flock from among the Jews.

He assigned Paul as the Apostle of His other flock,

who are those from among the Gentiles.

The Two Witness are those two flocks,

made one new man (Ephesians) through the cross,

the sacrifice finished by Jesus Christ.

The Magi were following in the footsteps of their ancestor,

Balaam of Beor.

It is he who gave the prophecy about Christ and His "star" out of Jacob.

They had been waiting for this stellar event to occur ever since then.

These Magi were Chaldi priests,

interpreters of celestial movements

aka "astrologers".

Their "belief" arose from a corrupted origin,

nonetheless, they had a role in the fulfillment of the prophecy.

Balaam was evil,

yet when revealing His Word,

God would in those days speak from the lips of a donkey, if He so determined.

It doesn't make Balaam or the donkey,

or even the Magi,

good and holy.
