Trump should use the pocket veto on both the defense bill and the covid relief bill. They can't be overturned by Congress and it would be a big fuck you to the DS.
If Trump uses the regular veto, it gets sent back to Congress for a potential override. If he doesn't sign it, letting the congressional term expire, both bills are essentially dead with no chance of review. Reagan did it a few times.
Easier to do a pocket veto. And there are other laws in there worth not putting into force like the livestreaming and anti-meme laws. Its not all about the money.
It really is the best course of action. Deprives Nancy and Chuck of their "win", makes the new congress go back and deal honestly in the next session.
I believe Congress is forced to adjourn for the Christmas holiday.
