If this goes to "2024", the only path toward reclaiming our government is going to involve war. We will not be allowed to separate without being invaded and they will not release power without being forcefully deposed.
Unless some kind of christmas miracle occurs and the vast majority of the country erect a completely separate system, which then assumes all functions of governance, and all military, police, and economic systems shift over to it while unanimously ignoring the people claiming to be our duly elected government.
I don't see that happening, even if only 5% support the proverbial establishment, it would be enough that they would try to fight to assert dominance and control, meaning some would go with the flow and people would hedge their support on who they felt would win the conflict. Meaning war is the "deplomacy by alternative means."
