It goes both ways. Some in the profession are as appalled as anyone who has any experience in medicine and has seen the establishment lie and break every established norm to allegedly fight a dreaded novel strain of Corona. Others (usually very rigid, concrete operational thinkers who see data but can’t take the next logical step to drawing a conclusion and rely on others for interpretation) have bought the story hook, line and sinker. They’re usually the ones nobody wants to work with.
No. Any high powered profession with intelligent individuals attracts some real degenerates. I was in one department where multiple trainees and staff attending a were banging nurses on the side. The only thing shows like ER get right is how messed up the personal lives of so many in medicine are.
100% true. Go against the “prevailing wisdom” about Covid right now even if what [they] are doing and saying is spreading panic and killing patients while your treatment saves lives…. and the machine kicks in with all its weight to destroy your life and reputation. With all the Credentialing and medical boarding processes involved, once yer out… yer out.

I generally do not hang out with others in my profession. I never hung out with pre meds in college. I was a child of a doc and was genuinely interested in medicine, but many who went into it had the same kind of arrogance I see in Washington today and it’s just…. ugh. Depressing to be around.
