Most VPNs are monitored by and accessible to US law enforcement, so remember that
Any free or cheap VPN is certainly no safer than simply going without a VPN
Luckily for law enforcement, there are a lot of stupid people who will use cheap VPNs thinking they are protected
Think of it this way
Cheap to moderate VPNs cost in the range of $2 to $5 a month
If an agency needed the logs from that VPN and sent a letter from their legal department for that data, it would cost the VPN company a minimum of $800 to have their attorney read the request and object to it with all ancillary paperwork and follow up, assuming it does not go to court
Do you think your $20 or $60 per year is going to cause the VPN host to spend money from their own pockets
So you need to find a VPN in a country that does not share information with US agencies and they are very few
And free VPNs are just retarded as far as security goes - those are honeypots
But, if all you want to do is change IP addresses so people can't identify you easily or for shitposting on the chans, then any VPN will do
