And probably earlier. But that does not have any bearing on whether the DS expected him to win, or even had a mere outside possibility of winning.
The Scalia matter, and what, if anything, he might have been an obstacle to, may never be known. I’ve thought about and researched Scalia a lot since he died, but have not identified a compelling reason for his needing to be removed. If his SCOTUS seat were the full extent of it, there are many other ways of “persuading” an incumbent to vacate. Were it not for the wetworks email and the general lack of transparency over his death, no heightened suspicion would likely have been raised. So it seems more plausible for it to be natural causes, as reported, or something else and for reasons we don’t see or don’t want to consider.
