Fire guts historic Seven Gables Theatre in Seattle's U District

SEATTLE - A fire in the historic Seven Gables Theatre sent a huge plume of smoke towering over Seattle's University District at mid-day Thursday.

Crews responded to the scene, at Roosevelt Way and NE 50th Street, at around noon after receiving reports of smoke and flames spewing from the former theatre, which closed in June 2017.
