That's just the Papacy trying to survive in case their "liberal side" of their church crashes.

Then they pull out the "conservative side".

Nothing new here.

They've used this same ploy for centuries.

It has served them well.

Why?

Because God can't control how His Word endures?

That same Doctrine upon which the Faith of Jesus Christ is founded and by which souls are brought to salvation from eternal condemnation?

What good would this Doctrine be if it were wiped away,

no longer unspoiled?

Has God just abandoned those for whom Christ died,

leaving them orphans?

Did Christ, the Word of God,

lie when He said,

I will never leave you nor forsake you?

What you are saying isn't so much about doubting the veracity of the Scriptures' enduring presence,

as it is doubting God's sufficiency.

God is the Word.

So your answer is you believe God is powerless to stop His Doctrine from being unspoiled,

and He's not allowed to control what is written in His Book.
