Attorney Sidney Powell told The Zenger News that she was offered verbally the position of special counsel by President Trump at the Friday night meeting in the Oval Office.
Sidney then added that President Trump’s closest advisors are blocking her from seeing the president or presenting him with paperwork to make it official!

Pro-Trump attorney Sidney Powell said Thursday that the president’s aides are preventing her from being in contact with President Trump and coordinating his efforts to overturn election results in battleground states around the country.
In an interview with Zenger News, Powell said she had heard only radio silence from the White House following her meeting with the president in the Oval Office on Friday, seemingly confirming that she was unable to speak to Trump when she visited the White House on Sunday.
“I’ve been blocked from speaking to or communicating with the president since I left the Oval Office on Friday night,” Powell told Zenger’s David Martsoko, “by apparently everyone around him.”
Powell also said she was verbally offered the position of “special counsel” by Trump during Friday’s meeting, but has been unable to present him with paperwork to make it official.

By Saturday morning, Powell says, the president’s most senior aides had declined to give her a Secret Service-issued pass to come and go from the West Wing. “I’ve been blocked from speaking to or communicating with the president since I left the Oval Office on Friday night,” she says, “by apparently everyone around him.”

Turkey wants better ties with Israel, but has ‘issues with people at the top level’ – Erdogan
Ankara is seeking to have better relations with Tel Aviv, Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip has said, while also criticizing Israel’s top leadership and condemning its “merciless acts” towards Palestinians.
‘We would like to bring our ties to a better point,” Erdogan said, but yet again criticized Israel’s policies towards Palestine.
“The Palestine policy is our red line. It is impossible for us to accept Israel’s Palestine policies. Their merciless acts there are unacceptable,” Erdogan said. Ankara has been vocally opposing Israel’s occupation of the West Bank and its annexation plans and illegal settlement policy, as well as its alleged human rights violations in the Palestinian territories.
“The main problem right now is about individuals at the top. If there were no issues at the top level, our ties could have been very different,” Erdogan told reporters on Friday.
While Turkey and Israel enjoy strong economic ties, their political relationship has been gradually worsening over the past few years. The two countries even opted to expel each other’s ambassadors back in 2018. Turkey’s rejection of the US-sponsored “deal of the century” peace plan for Palestine, and its harsh criticism of the recent normalization of ties between Israel and some Arab nations have further dented relations.
Despite the sour top-level relations, the two nations still continue to cooperate in other fields. “Our relations with Israel are not cut off at the intelligence level – they continue,” Erdogan said.

Chinese producer on Netflix’s ‘Three-Body Problem’ dies from poisoning
The chairman of a Netflix-affiliated Chinese gaming company who was poisoned this month has died — and a co-worker remains the prime suspect in the shocking case, according to reports.
Yoozoo Group boss Lin Qi — executive producer of the streaming giant’s adaptation of The Three-Body Problem series of Chinese sci-fi books — was first hospitalized on December 16.
Chinese media outlets have identified a senior executive at Yoozoo, Xu Yao, as having targeted Lin after an internal dispute within the rising firm.
Now in custody, Xu headed the company’s film and television division and was chosen to oversee all projects related to The Three-Body Problem.
Yoozoo — which owns the production rights to the books — initially sought to produce film and gaming adaptations of the series but those projects flailed before the firm successfully partnered with Netflix.
Shanghai police began probing the case after hospital officials alerted them to Qi’s illness and suspected poisoning.
“Following the call, the police began an investigation. According to investigations on site and further interviews, the police found that a suspect surnamed Xu, who is a coworker of the victim Lin, was the most likely the perpetrator,” according to a social media post from the department. “The suspect Xu has been arrested and investigations continue.”
Lin, 39, was allegedly poisoned after drinking a compromised cup of tea, according to reports.
He was working with Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss in developing the highly anticipated project.
Written by acclaimed Chinese author Liu Cixin, The Three-Body series has emerged as a bestselling global phenomenon and won a slew of high profile awards.
Primarily a gaming developer, Yoozoo is also producing a video game based on Game of Thrones.
Shares of the company dropped by as much as 18 percent after Lin’s initial hospitalization.

DETROIT PUNCHES BACK: Files ‘Civil Conspiracy’ Suit Against Black Lives Matter Activists

In an attempt to discourage the continued assault on their city by ideologically based activist groups, the City of Detroit has taken a new tack in filing a lawsuit against the activists of the Black Lives Matter movement.
Officials for the City of Detroit have filed a lawsuit against Black Lives Matter activist groups alleging a “civil conspiracy.” The lawsuit claims that the protests in that city “have repeatedly turned violent, endangering the lives of police and the public.”
The city’s lawsuit charges that the activists took part in the conspiracy, “defamed” the mayor and law enforcement, and insists the city should be awarded damages.
In the lawsuit, the plaintiff cites four protests that occurred in Detroit during 2020 and contends that law enforcement officers sustained injuries that included “cracked vertebrae, lacerations, and concussions,” according to a Detroit Police Department report.
City officials hope that the documentation of the repeated violence will nullify claims by a BLM affiliate group, Detroit Will Breathe, that the demonstrations – no matter how out of control – should be protected under the First Amendment.
The lawsuit serves as a counter claim to a lawsuit filed by activists in late August that alleged police officers “repeatedly responded with violence” when protesters took part in mass demonstrations.
The move has infuriated race-baiting critics, including US Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), who, in an op-ed in the Detroit Free Press, blasted the city’s counter claim as “an unthinkable assault on our constitutional rights.”

Hackers threaten to leak massive trove of ‘before & after’ plastic surgery photos, warn they’re ‘not a pleasant sight’
A dark web hacking outfit claims to have purloined some 900 gigabytes of “before and after” photos from a UK cosmetic surgery chain with a litany of celebrity endorsements, vowing to release the images unless a ransom is paid.
The hack on the surgery chain, the Hospital Group, was reported by the BBC on Thursday, noting that the company had informed both its customers as well as the UK’s Information Commissioner's Office of the data theft.
“We can confirm that our IT systems have been subject to a data security breach. None of our patients' payment card details have been compromised but at this stage, we understand that some of our patients' personal data may have been accessed,” the chain, also known as the Transform Hospital Group, said in a statement, adding that it is also working with local police and the National Cyber Security Centre in addition to the ICO.
We have secured our systems and a full investigation is underway to understand the extent of the incident.
The hacking crew, known as REvil and reportedly behind a series of similar cyber attacks, took to the dark net threatening to release “intimate photos of customers,” warning they are “not a completely pleasant sight.” It remains unclear what the attackers demanded for ransom, however.
The Hospital Group said it had notified all of its patients about the incident and would provide them with “regular updates as the picture becomes clearer,”according to The Telegraph. The chain has counted among its customers a number of celebrities, including former ‘Big Brother’ contestant Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace, ‘Shameless’ actress Tina Malone and British pop singer Kerry Katona.
Though the company said that many of the photos would not include the faces of patients, one former customer told the BBC he was anxious after the hack, saying “I'm obviously concerned as the last thing I want is 'before photos' being splattered around in the public domain.”

ByteDance, the parent company of the controversial TikTok app, is now using its artificial intelligence programs for drug development and research.
ByteDance, whose founder promised to use his company to promote “Socialist core values” and devotion to the Chinese Communist Party, will focus on artificial intelligence (AI) drug discovery. Job postings for the branch of the Beijing-based company have appeared for cities in Mountain View, Shanghai, and Beijing.
“We are looking for candidates to join our team and conduct cutting-edge research in drug discovery and manufacturing powered by AI algorithms,” a job posting explained.
The company’s foray into healthcare comes as critics, most notably President Trump, highlight the app’s ties to the Chinese government.

7 Ways Governments Used the Coronavirus Pandemic to Crush Human Rights
Human rights activists were generally downbeat about the global state of affairs in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, often pointing to 2020 as one of the worst years in memory for declining civil liberties.
Here are seven ways governments have used the Chinese coronavirus pandemic to diminish human rights and civil liberties.
Freedom of Speech: The United Nations was among many agencies and advocacy groups to worry about the damage inflicted on freedom of speech during the pandemic, which included both rampant disinformation and ham-handed restrictions on speech in the name of controlling “disinformation.”
“People have died because governments have lied, hidden information, detained reporters, failed to level with people about the nature of the threat, and criminalized individuals under the guise of ‘spreading false information. People have suffered because some governments would rather protect themselves from criticism than allow people to share information, learn about the outbreak, know what officials are or are not doing to protect them,” U.N. Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Expression David Kaye said in July.
“In the past three months, numerous governments have used the COVID [Chinese coronavirus] -pandemic to repress expression in violation of their obligations under human rights law,” Kaye continued, citing Belarus, Cambodia, China, Iran, Egypt, India, Myanmar, and Turkey as nations of particular concern.
“I am further concerned about efforts to repress disinformation using tools of criminal law, which are likely to hamper the free flow of information, such as in Brazil and Malaysia,” Kaye added.
The International Research & Exchanges Board (IREX), an international education and development nonprofit, published a report in September called Freedom of Expression During Covid-19 that took a detailed look at how 20 different governments used the pandemic to curtail freedom of speech. Many of these restrictions were justified as efforts to control disinformation. Governments often cited the pandemic as an excuse to dramatically tighten existing restrictions on speech. Few examples of effective resistance to the new “emergency” restrictions were cited.
Press freedom: Related to the free speech issue, but distinct enough to consider the subject on its own, is the damage inflicted upon journalism by the pandemic. In a year-end report published last week, the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) found more reporters imprisoned around the world than ever before, many arrested for coverage of the pandemic that contradicted official narratives. Unsurprisingly, Communist China was especially brutal about arresting reporters for pandemic coverage that challenged the government.
Reporters Without Borders (RSF) published a similar report, finding over 130 members of the press jailed for reporting on the pandemic, including citizen journalists.
“Behind every single one of these cases is the fate of a person who faces criminal trials, long imprisonment and often mistreatment because he did not submit to censorship and repression,” said RSF’s director in Germany, Katja Gloger.
Religious freedom: Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito warned in November that the pandemic imposed “previously unimaginable restrictions on individual liberty, from freedom of speech down to the right to a speedy trial, since almost every activity involving human contact has been restricted.”
“The COVID crisis has served as a sort of constitutional stress test, and in doing so, it has highlighted disturbing trends that were already present before the virus struck,” Alito said.
Justice Alito highlighted the danger to religious liberty, as houses of worship have been forced to obey extremely tight social distancing restrictions – often much tighter than activities involving more people and much greater risk of coronavirus transmission. He pointed to Nevada orders imposing much lower attendance caps on churches than casinos as an example.

Dem Rep. Doggett: Crowded Church Services ‘Leading to’ Deaths
On Thursday’s “MSNBC Live,” Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-TX) commented on a video of a large church service tweeted by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) by saying that he applauds “those who want to share, as I do, their faith here at the Christmas time, but they are leading to the death of other people, both inside and outside their congregations.”
Doggett said, “I live on a street that has two churches, two or three more are within shouting distance of my house here in east Austin. They are all closed. I thought last night — or tonight, as they have normally Christmas Eve services, they’ve shown that good judgment. Our problem in Texas, frankly, is that we have, unfortunately, a Governor in Greg Abbott who, all along, has been more interested in pleasing President Trump than in protecting the health of Texans. And as a result of that, we have about 26,000 Texans that are not alive today. We will have more of those individuals die. I applaud those who want to share, as I do, their faith here at the Christmas time, but they are leading to the death of other people, both inside and outside their congregations.”
