We are seeing major outages in Nashville because of the explosion. Why? The ducts that feed fiber into that building are 3-4 feet deep at a minimum. The fiber itself stubs up far inside the building - a blast through a window would not affect it. Even the handholes that hold the splicing in sidewalks are rated for a car rolling over it- and there are no access points in the roads. It was reported that 3 out of 5 generators were working around 1000 - those should be up and running by now sooooo From the blast in the street- why is so much knocked out?
My thoughts, yes.
Also. They make certain their carrier lines are redundant.
