I fell into ego inflation badly, but over time realized meaninglessness was without dualities, and thus I didn't matter, or even fully exist. Sometimes that's liberating, sometimes depressing. It is what it is(n't).

There isn't just one type of buddhism. There are many different schools/sects/yanas. Not all are non-violent. Many arm themselves with automatic weapons and so on, and fight, and kill. It sucks you found something you weren't into.
Jesus was a pacifist. He's literally called the "prince of peace". Yeah, he said to buy a sword. He didn't use it for harming anyone. He wanted it to fulfill a prophecy. When his disciple used it to attack a guard, and cut his ear, Jesus healed the ear. Old Testament God was warlike. New Testament Living Christ is not. Fyi.
