Rome, Italy anon met w/ Roman friends on Christmas and heard of a VERY strange military (?) event on 22 December, right in the center of Rome.

Friends said they were walking home around 7 PM, already dark. Suddenly deafening sound of helicopters overhead. But turned out it was just one, hovering very low over the buildings for a while.

Friends' neighbors were at home on top floor of apt bldg and likewise saw the whole thing. They later went online and ID'd the copter they'd seen as a Chinook. Said there were lights on the underside, one red and one green (don't know if that's relevant?).

This was a few blocks west of Piazza Navona. Historical, residential area, apt blocks w/ shops/restaurants on the ground floors. No govt offices or other screaming-obvious target that we know of.

This sort of shit just doesn't happen in Rome, anons. Ever. Especially right in the center like that, this is NUTS! Don't let anybody tell you that nothing is happening
