Note on Pillsbury Winthrop from LB -
They get a LOT of local/state gov't contracts to do lobbying for local/state issues. Gov't I used to work for routinely approved annual "oh, fuck, we gotta hire these guys" contracts for lobbying.
Not that they ever once showed up to ask for anything, or produced
anything other than generic BS reports that basically said, "We're working on this, plan to meet with people, will let you know if something happens." And I worked in a department in the government that would know if anything happened other than what I said.
Might as well just call 'em "The Doughboys". With a name like Pillsbury and the amounts of money I'm sure they made from all those bullshit lobbying contracts, it would fit.
