Anon, I was a Mason, and became a Master Mason, pretty quickly. I left the Lodge, because frankly, I thought no one knew what the fuck anything was even about. And seemed to be just using it as an excuse to get away from their wives.
I didn't see anything nefarious, inside. And, frankly most of the guys weren't bright enough to be master-minding anything. That's not to say more senior members are not involved in nefarious shit. I just never saw anything concerning. That being said, I found LOTS of cause for concern online, relating to their symbolism and teachings, which was a factor in me leaving. The main factor was, when my daughter was molested and absued in her mother's home, I reached out to the Lodge for assistance in getting justice. The response was VERY weak.
At that point, I was done. Emailed my "remit" letter to the Lodge and never returned.
I remember thinking, it was disappointing that no one seemed to have answers for my many questions regarding Freemasonry/Masonry. They did not even know the meanings behind many of the symbols that adorned their lodges, aprons and trinkets. This bothered me. I came their for answers, and left with moar. And, really… Had more respect for it going in than I did leaving.
I think Freemasonry is like many religions… Started with great intentions, but ended up subverted by shit-bag Satanists. But, 90% of those involved are unaware of anything, and just normal folks.
