>Everyone with a science degree must be under a very powerful spell, because so much of this "pandemic" defies even basic first year university science

Bingo!

I’m a scientist at a medical school and I am disgusted by this shit show. I listened to a university virologist and spokesperson to the Media give a presentation to faculty a couple weeks ago online about COVID and “science misinformation” and it was fucking joke. Not a single word discussed about the science of the virus but instead he suggested talking points we use to students, friends and family on why we should get the vaccine and especially the second booster, because “sciences ROCKS and if it were available to me today, I would run down to the hospital to get it myself.” That is a direct quote!

The truth is that I am open minded and not dogmatically against vaccines. But these vaccines are being approved under “emergency use” regulations and there is no evidence we are in an emergency situation. For the record, my general opposition to vaccinations 1) is that it serves as a clandestine vector for authoritarian governments to subvert our inalienable rights as humans and 2) is serves the hubris of the Institutional State by subverting the noble endeavors of both medicine (do no harm) and science.

As a scientist, I am not opposed to the idea of vaccinations if it is properly investigated as a means of naturally assisting the immune system in establishing immunity. In this regard, I compliment the efforts of those in medical science who have set out to create natural vaccination approaches. For example, by introducing attenuated viruses via the nasal passages. But, in contrast, any serious objective study of the history of vaccinations reveals serious problems that are most often ignored or suppressed with little effort to correct mistakes or errors in our otherwise noble efforts going forward. Unfortunately, many in the antivaxx community blame science itself for these problems, but these problems have a deeper origin that is independent of science, but span across multiple fields of science nonetheless.

Science is a very useful and powerful human tool. But, like a knife, drug, or gun, it can be used in a noble way to serve humanity or it can be misused, whether intentional or not, to harm humanity.

Next semester should be interesting because I suspect I will be targeted either due to my opposition to the vaccine or for teaching the truth. I’m close to retirement, but I will not hesitate to walk away before then. Fuck it, I’ll sleep better.
