Some thoughts about this whole PC culture bullshit.

Think about this. Years ago, not that long ago, people had a thing called freedom of speech. Freedom of speech allows people to speak freely, even if it isn't, "politically correct." Now don't get me wrong, depending on what's said, it may be offensive or even hurtful to the person who is the target however, they are not generally being physically harmed, so the question arises, are the rules and laws regarding PC culture, i.e. "offenses," just? When I was growing up we had a few sayings such as, "sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me." It's a true saying. There is a difference between physical harm and emotional harm, but the PC culture seems to have forgotten that. Is it nice to call people names etc? No, of course not, but at the same time, it does not rise to the level of physical harm, so why are the rules and laws so harsh regarding it? Now, if someone is being physically harmed that is a different story, but today, for some reason, these clowns equate saying things that someone takes exception to is tantamount to physical harm. That makes no sense.

Certainly, people should observe the golden rule, but trying to FORCE people to think certain ways is not freedom. As strange as it may seem, freedom is equal and while we may not agree with someone, they do have the right to think what they want. For example, is some Nazi a hole is spouting off in some town square he can do that, but the second he tries to implement his ideas is where the line gets drawn. Suggesting something is not the same as actually doing it.

We need to go back to our founding principles. While it sometimes is tough to put up with, freedom is better than thought nazis like the whole PC culture. They try to pretend that they are helping but in reality they are exacerbating the situation.

Whether we like it or not, there are some people in the world who are A holes, but they have a right to be A holes as long as they aren't hurting anyone else.

I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than those attending too small a degree of it.

For example. You go to work and you say something that someone takes offense to regardless of whether you actually MEANT to offend them or be derogatory. You get fired. Managers will often try and make it sound like they are being social justice warriors, but in reality, they may just be protecting their OWN asses because of the way the laws are used. They pontificate and without question will fire you without even really caring about the details because they aren't really worried about what YOU did, they are just worried about it coming back on them somehow if they don't fire you.

They act as if actual physical bodily harm has occurred. Thin skinned snowflakes are driving this country into insanity. Ever look into common law? An actual crime against a PERSON must take place first. Common law is the law of the LAND.
