actually if you look at the long term earth cycles, are ARE in a mini ice age. Not one of the 'big ones' from ancient history where almost the entire earth froze.. those actual stopped happening as the overall temperature of the earth rose, but we ARE in an ice age. Antartica wasn't always covered in snow, and the north pole didn't use to be a huge piece of ice. it was an ocean.
