Elected representatives around the world have for too long delegated their duties to the permanent bureaucracies and used their positions for self-enrichment while leaving we, the people, at the mercy of unelected bureaucrats and lobbyists. It's time they started to earn their salaries and gold-plated pensions and perks of high office. They have become lazy and stupid and over-reliant on an ambitious and self-serving bureaucracy.
