Democrat Jon Ossoff Raised Nearly Six Times More in California than Georgia

Georgia Senate Democrat Jon Ossoff raised nearly six times more in California than he did in Georgia, according to a recent Federal Election Commission (FEC) report.

Breitbart News reported Sunday that Ossoff, who hopes to defeat Sen. David Perdue (R-GA) in January, became the highest-funded candidate in the history of U.S. Senate elections as he raised $106.7 million between October 15 and December 16.

This is also the record for the most raised in two months.

As Ossoff broke fundraising records during this FEC reporting period, it also appears the Georgia Senate Democrat candidate also raised significantly more money in California than the Peach State.

Ossoff raised $14,731,746 in California and $2,550,267 in Georgia during the latest period. This amount to Ossoff raising nearly six times more money in a state over two thousand miles from the state he wants to represent in the Senate.

Ossoff raised:

State Total Amount Percent Of Total

CA $ 14,731,746 26.43%

GA $ 2,550,267 4.57%

Rep. Rick Allen (R-GA) said during a campaign rally with Vice President Mike Pence in December he is “sick and tired” of “limousine liberals” from California and New York having undue influence in Georgia’s elections. He said:

I am sick and tired of these limousine liberals from California and New York deciding who our next two senators are going to be in the state of Georgia. Ossoff and Warnock couldn’t raise a dime in the state of Georgia. Y’all, this money is coming from California and New York, that is dead wrong! And it turns my stomach and I am tired of it and they tried to do the same thing to my buddy Lindsey Graham in South Carolina. We’re sick of it, go home to California and New York!

Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT) told Breitbart News during an exclusive interview in December that out-of-state donations flooding into Georgia shows the donations are not “aligned” with Georgians.

“It shows you the money flooding in here is not aligned with Georgia values. This is California and New York liberal money coming into Georgia. We saw that very same thing in Montana,” Daines said.

Trump Signs Executive Order Giving Funds To Students Without Access To In-Person Learning

Trump Signs Executive Order on Expanding Educational Opportunity Through School Choice / STATEMENT FROM THE PRESIDENT

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, and in order to ensure the education, health, safety, and well-being of America’s children, our most essential resource upon which the future of our great Nation depends, it is hereby ordered as follows:

Section 1. Purpose. As part of their efforts to address the public health challenges and uncertainties posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, State and local officials shut down in-person learning for the vast majority of our more than 56 million elementary and secondary school students beginning in late February and early March of this year. Since then, however, our Nation has identified effective measures to facilitate the safe resumption of in-person learning, and the Federal Government has provided more than $13 billion to States and school districts to implement those measures.

The prolonged deprivation of in-person learning opportunities has produced undeniably dire consequences for the children of this country. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has stated that school attendance is negatively correlated with a child’s risk of depression and various types of abuse. States have seen substantial declines in reports of child maltreatment while school buildings have been closed, indicating that allegations are going unreported. These reductions are driven in part by social isolation from the schoolteachers and support staff with whom students typically interact and who have an obligation to report suspected child maltreatment. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has also found that school closures have a “substantial impact on food security and physical activity for children and families.” Additionally, a recent survey of educators found student absences from school, including virtual learning, have nearly doubled during the pandemic, and as AAP has noted, chronic absenteeism is associated with alcohol and drug use, teenage pregnancy, juvenile delinquency, and suicide attempts.

School closures are especially difficult for families with children with special needs. Schools provide not only academic supports for students with special needs, but they also provide much-needed in-person therapies and services, including physical and occupational therapies. A recent survey found that 80 percent of children with special needs are not receiving the services and supports to which they are entitled and that approximately 40 percent of children with special needs are receiving no services or supports. Moreover, the survey found that virtual learning may not be fully accessible to these students, as children with special needs are twice as likely to receive little or no remote learning and to be dissatisfied with the remote learning received.

Pope Francis Formally Deprives Vatican Secretariat of Its State Assets Amid Ongoing Corruption Probe

In mid-2019, Vatican prosecutors launched an investigation into allegations of corruption and mismanagement of donations and investments by the independent city-state’s secretariat of state that resulted in losses of tens of millions of euros amid financial troubles for the Holy See.

The head of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis, over the weekend signed into law a new document depriving the Vatican secretariat of state of its financial assets and real estate holdings amid an ongoing probe into allegations of corruption and mismanagement of the Holy See’s donations and investments.

The new law requires the state’s secretariat to complete the transfer of all the holdings to another Vatican office by the deadline of 4 February 2021.

“A better organisation of the administration, monitoring and supervision of the economic and financial activities of the Holy See to ensure transparent and efficient management and a clear separation of competences and functions, is a fundamental point in the reform of the Curia,” the pontiff wrote in the law.

Now, all donations to the pope, including the Peter’s Pence collections from the faithful and all previous donations that had been managed by the secretariat of state, will go to the Vatican treasury office and be operated as separate funds accounted for in the general budget of the Holy See.

The new law makes the changes, announced in November, permanent, and sets a firm date for their implementation.

The pope pointed out, hopwever, that the office of the administrative body of the secretariat of state will remain to carry out “internal” as well as “other non-administrative functions”.

“The so-called Administrative Office of the Secretariat of State shall maintain exclusively the human resources necessary to carry out the activities related to its internal administration, preparation of its budget and balance sheet and other non-administrative functions performed so far,” the law states.

Under the new changes, the secretariat of state, which was the most powerful office of the Holy See, will have to propose a budget and have it approved and monitored by other departments.

In August, Pope Francis began stripping the Vatican secretariat of its assets in the wake of an ongoing investigation into allegations of corruption of the Holy See’s funds after senior officials of the secretariat were involved in a controversial 350-million-euro investment into a luxury residential building in London that led to losses of tens of millions of euros. In November, the pontiff appointed a commission to put the changes into effect.

Rep. Louie Gohmert, Group Of Republicans Sue Pence In Last-Ditch Effort To Overturn Presidential Election

Republican Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert and a group of other GOP figures filed a lawsuit Sunday against Vice President Mike Pence in an effort to overturn the 2020 presidential election.

The lawsuit focuses on Pence, who will oversee the upcoming Jan. 6 meeting of Congress to count states’ electoral votes and finalize President-elect Joe Biden’s victory over President Donald Trump, according to The Hill.

The group filed the lawsuit against Pence in his capacity as vice president in a federal Texas court. The lawsuit reportedly asks for the judge to overturn Trump’s losses in battleground states.

Along with Gohmert and Arizona Republican Party Chairwoman Kelli Ward, Students for Trump COO Tyler Bowyer, Arizona Republican Party Executive Director Greg Safsten and Maricopa County Republicans Second Vice Chair Nancy Cottle are asking federal Judge Jeremy Kernodle to let Pence declare who the electors are on Jan. 6, according to The Daily Beast.

Gohmert’s office did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller when asked about the lawsuit.

Andrew Cuomo: ‘Post-COVID Future’ Depends on Getting Vaccines ‘in People’s Arms’

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) said on Monday that the country’s “post-COVID future” is largely dependent on getting vaccines “in people’s arms.”

Cuomo previewed his thoughts on a “post-COVID future” in New York and the U.S. and suggested it remains largely contingent on getting the majority of the population vaccinated.

“What does 2021 look like? 2021 looks like what we’re going to make it look like. It’s going to be what we do, and, clearly, the key is going to be the vaccine. It’s the one really good piece of news we had in 2020 — was that the research community, the medical community, came up with highly effective vaccines,” Cuomo said.

“So it’s about getting those vaccines now in people’s arms right? … But what matters is getting it in people’s arms,” Cuomo added, noting that 140,000 New Yorkers have received one vaccine, putting the state at the top of the national chart in the number of vaccines that have been administered. He said the state expects another 259,000 vaccines from both Pfizer and Moderna this week.

Cuomo said they will continue to go down the list in administering the vaccines to priority populations. This week, for example, officials in New York will focus on urgent care center employees, as well as those who administer the vaccines, including local health department staff.

This is far from the first time the Democrat governor has emphasized the importance of vaccinating the majority of the population.

“I’m also frustrated that we see polls that suggest a high percent of Americans are not ready to take this vaccine, 49 percent nationwide,” Cuomo said during a press conference this month, with a special appearance from Dr. Anthony Fauci, who agreed with the governor that 75 to 80 percent of the population needs to be vaccinated to reach what Cuomo described as “critical mass.”

“When that happens, Governor, is going to be entirely dependent upon how well we do, how well I do, you do, your health officials, in getting the message out of why it’s so important for people to get vaccinated because if 50 percent of the people get vaccinated, then we don’t have that umbrella of immunity over us,” the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease director stated.

Fauci told PODCAST-19 last week that he believes Americans will “start seeing life get back to normal” next fall but added that it is largely contingent on an “overwhelming majority” of the population getting vaccinated.

“It’s going to depend on our success in vaccinating what I would say is an overwhelming majority of the population, between 70 to 85 percent,” Fauci said.

“If we can do that, by mid to end of the summer, I think as we get into fall, October, November, times like that, I think we will be very close to a degree of normality,” he added.

Law Prof Explains Why the Facebook Antitrust Case Focuses on Mark Zuckerberg’s Emails

A recent article written by a Vanderbilt University law professor explains why much of the antitrust case recently filed against Facebook relies heavily on emails from CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

In an article published in the Conversation titled “Why Facebook Antitrust Case Relies So Heavily on Mark Zuckerberg’s Emails,” Rebecca Haw Allensworth, a professor of law at Vanderbilt University, explains why a large portion of the recent antitrust lawsuit filed against Facebook relies on the emails of the company’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg. Some of the emails, as previously covered by Breitbart News, describe the “Wrath of Mark” that upstart competitors would face if they didn’t sell out to the Masters of the Universe.

Allensworth writes that the same tactic has worked against big tech companies in antitrust lawsuits before:

The case against Facebook bears similarities to U.S. v. Microsoft, the landmark 2001 case that found the software company liable for monopolization. Here, the FTC will have to prove that Facebook, like Microsoft, acquired its market power in the social media market by excluding rivals, not merely by making a great product. And in both cases, internal statements by executives play a big role.

The emails will likely add to arguments that Facebook did not purchase companies just to improve their own product but rather to remove competitors:

So in most monopolization cases, courts get stuck if they try to use only market facts to answer the ultimate question: Did the monopolist flourish because of the improvements or because of diminished competition?

That’s where “intent evidence” – information about what a defendant was thinking – can help. If a CEO intended a merger to insulate her company from competition, it likely did in fact insulate the company from competition. Judges will attribute some of the company’s dominance to exclusion, and that violates the antitrust laws.

Allensworth finishes the article by stating that she’s shocked at the paper trail left by Zuckerberg appearing to show plans to destroy competitors:

What I find truly remarkable about this case is not the volume of internal quotes in the complaint, but the paper trail a sophisticated CEO like Zuckerberg created of Facebook’s transgressions – which is now why a federal antitrust lawsuit poses an existential threat to his company.

Teen whose profane Snapchat message got her suspended sues school over free speech and wins. Now the district wants to take it to the Supreme Court.

It could happen

A Pennsylvania school district is requesting the Supreme Court weigh in on a case after a freshman cheerleader and her parents sued the district after it disciplined the teen for a profane message she shared on social media.

According to a Monday report from the New York Times, titled "A Cheerleader's Vulgar Message Prompts a First Amendment Showdown," the Mahanoy Area School District has asked the Supreme Court to rule on whether students can be disciplined for remarks they make on social media.

In 2017, the unnamed student had just discovered that she didn't make the varsity cheerleading squad when she sent the offending message.

She took to Snapchat, where she messaged about 250 friends with a message featuring herself and a fellow student with their middle fingers up. The unnamed student captioned the photo "[u]sing a curse word four times," and expressed her unhappiness with "school," "softball," "cheer," and "everything."

"Though Snapchat messages are ephemeral by design, another student took a screenshot of this one and showed it to her mother, a coach," the Times reported. "The school suspended the student from cheerleading for a year, saying the punishment was needed to 'avoid chaos' and maintain a 'teamlike environment.'"

Following the suspension, the teen and her family sued the district and was victorious in the United States Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit in Philadelphia. At the time, the court ruled that the First Amendment "did not allow public schools to punish students for speech outside school grounds."

The student and her family, who are represented by attorneys from the American Civil Liberties Union, told the Supreme Court that the First Amendment protected the teen's "colorful expression of frustration, made in an ephemeral Snapchat on her personal social media, on a weekend, off campus, containing no threat or harassment or mention of her school, and that did not cause or threaten any disruption of her school."

What is the school saying?

According to the Times, "the school district said administrators around the nation needed a definitive ruling from the Supreme Court" in order to ascertain their ability to discipline students for "what they say away from school."

"The question presented recurs constantly and has become even more urgent as Covid-19 has forced schools to operate online," a brief for the district's appeal read, according to the outlet. "Only this court can resolve this threshold First Amendment question bedeviling the nation's nearly 100,000 public schools."

"Whether a disruptive or harmful tweet is sent from the school cafeteria or after the student has crossed the street on her walk home, it has the same impact," the brief added. "The Third Circuit's formalistic rule renders school powerless whenever a hateful message is launched from off campus."

"The Supreme Court next month will consider whether to hear the case of Mahanoy Area School District v. B.L., involving a student's freedom of speech while off school grounds," the Times said.

Anything else?

Justin Driver, author and law professor at Yale University, told the Times that he partially agrees with the district.

"It is difficult to exaggerate the stakes of this constitutional question," he said, pointing out that schools have no business "telling students what they could say when they were not in school."

He continued, "In the modern era, a tremendous percentage of minors' speech occurs off campus but online. Judicial decisions that permit schools to regulate off-campus speech that criticizes public schools are antithetical to the First Amendment. Such decisions empower schools to reach into any student's home and declare critical statements verboten, something that should deeply alarm all Americans."

Spain Plans Registry For Those Who Refuse COVID Vaccine

As Europe begins vaccinating the first wave of high-priority patients, a “glitch” has already emerged: many health-care workers and others have refused to take the vaccine, as skepticism and suspicion remain elevated.

A similar phenomenon has played out in the US, but to a less intense degree. But the situation, which we discussed last night, is now one of a variety of reasons, from a shortage of supplies and raw materials, to an uncooperative populace, that public-health officials are growing worried about hitting lofty vaccination targets.

And so, in Spain at least, government bureaucrats are fighting back, as Health Minister Salvador Illa warned the country would set up a “registry” for everybody who refuses the vaccine.

“What will be done is a registry, which will be shared with our European partners… of those people who have been offered it and have simply rejected it,” he said.

“It is not a document which will be made public and it will be done with the utmost respect for data protection.”

He added that the registry would not be made public, or delivered to employers, which begs the question: why else would the government keep a database of that information?

An AFP report on the health minister’s remarks wasn’t exactly clear about the motive, which leads us to believe that it’s just another tactic by the Spanish government, which has sworn up and down, like other European governments, that vaccinations wouldn’t be mandatory,.

Polls released over the last couple of months appear to reflect a steep and unexplained drop in the number of respondents who claim to be skeptical, or otherwise indicate that they would like to wait before getting the vaccine, has plunged as the first doses have been doled out and administered.

Spain’s government expects to have between 15MM and 20MM people out of its population of 47MM vaccinated against the virus by June in order to salvage next summer’s tourism season.

“The way to defeat the virus is to vaccinate all of us or the more the better,” Illa said.

Speculation has also been brewing about what might happen to those who refuse to inoculate themselves, and/or their children, even as public officials have talked up the importance of “transparency” and – of course – freedom of individual choice.

Pennsylvania Certified Results for President Are Found in Error – The Error Is Twice the Size of the Difference Between Candidates

After nearly two months, the state of Pennsylvania is found to have certified votes that are in error.

The Pennsylvania House has just uncovered that the certified results in Pennsylvania for President are in error by more than 200,000 votes. This is more than twice the difference between President Trump and Joe Biden.

What a mess. Republican State Representative Russ Diamond uncovered and reported today that the results for President are way off in Pennsylvania. More ballots were cast than people voted by more than 200,000 votes.

The group of Republican Representatives released this message:

HARRISBURG – A group of state lawmakers performing extensive analysis of election data today revealed troubling discrepancies between the numbers of total votes counted and total number of voters who voted in the 2020 General Election, and as a result are questioning how the results of the presidential election could possibly have been certified by Secretary of the Commonwealth Kathy Boockvar and Governor Tom Wolf. These findings are in addition to prior concerns regarding actions by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the Secretary, and others impacting the conduct of the election.

A comparison of official county election results to the total number of voters who voted on November 3, 2020 as recorded by the Department of State shows that 6,962,607 total ballots were reported as being cast, while DoS/SURE system records indicate that only 6,760,230 total voters actually voted. Among the 6,962,607 total ballots cast, 6,931,060 total votes were counted in the presidential race, including all three candidates on the ballot and write-in candidates.

The difference of 202,377 more votes cast than voters voting, together with the 31,547 over- and under-votes in the presidential race, adds up to an alarming discrepancy of 170,830 votes, which is more than twice the reported statewide difference between the two major candidates for President of the United States. On November 24, 2020, Boockvar certified election results, and Wolf issued a certificate of ascertainment of presidential electors, stating that Vice President Joe Biden received 80,555 more votes than President Donald Trump.

Jeffrey Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell denied $28.5mn bail bond

Accused child sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell has had her bail request denied by a federal judge, court records show. Her lawyers had requested she be released on a $28.5 million bond ahead of her trial.

Judge Alison Nathan has once again denied Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged madam bail, declaring her to be an “extreme flight risk,” according to court records unsealed Monday.

Maxwell’s lawyers had insisted the living conditions at Metropolitan Detention Center were “intolerable” and requested she be released into “house arrest” at a friend’s home, where she would be monitored by private security guards to ensure she didn’t skip town.

The bail offer was considerably higher than the $5 million offered up following Maxwell’s arrest in July. Her lawyers proposed the $28.5 million package that was supposed to represent “all of her and her spouse’s assets, her family’s livelihood, and the financial security of her closest friends and family.” Some $22.5 million of that was said to come directly from Maxwell and her spouse.

But prosecutors remained unmoved by her sob story about poor living conditions, noting she is permitted to leave her cell for 13 hours a day, has her own shower, phone, and television, and even has the use of two computers - making her considerably more privileged than the average inmate.

Her trial is due to start in July 2021. Maxwell has pleaded not guilty to multiple charges related to sex trafficking and perjury, and faces up to 35 years in prison if convicted. Epstein, her now-deceased associate, allegedly killed himself while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges of his own.

Maxwell has insisted she knew nothing about his “scheme to recruit underage girls for sexual massages” despite significant evidence - including the testimony of multiple then-underage girls - to the contrary.

Eight German care home employees jabbed with 5 TIMES Pfizer vaccine dose, 4 hospitalized with Covid-like symptoms

Eight nursing home workers in Stralsund received five times the normal dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine, sending half of them to the hospital with Covid-19 symptoms – but the company insists the megadose is safe.

A group of care home employees in the northeastern town of Stralsund was accidentally dosed with five times the prescribed amount of Pfizer-BioNTech’s newly approved Covid-19 vaccine on Sunday – the first day Germany began vaccinating healthcare workers and nursing home residents against the virus.

Eight employees received five times the 30-microgram (mcg) dose of the jab, which was recently christened Comirnaty. Four of those were hospitalized as a “precautionary measure” after experiencing flu-like (and Covid-19-like) symptoms, Vorpommern-Rügen district administrator Stefan Kerth revealed on Monday.

“I deeply regret this incident,” Kerth told reporters, expressing “hope” that “those affected suffer no serious side effects.”

While the prescribed dose for Comirnaty is just 30mcg, a spokeswoman for BioNTech insisted researchers had experimented with “increased dosages” during clinical trials and found doses of as much as 100mcg were tolerated without “serious consequences.” However, five times the normal dose would be 150mcg, half again as much as a 100mcg overdose, and it’s not clear if any of the clinical trials had tested such high doses.

The overdosed group consisted of seven women and one man, all aged between 38 and 54. The vaccine is being administered to elderly nursing home residents and employees at such facilities first, with a rollout for the general population to begin next year.

The arrival of pharmaceutical salvation has already encountered obstacles, however, with some districts rejecting their vaccine shipments on the suspicion they had not been kept at the ultra-cold temperature of -70 degrees Celsius required to retain safety and effectiveness.
