>The rape of children is not a crime under catholic “canon law” (see Crimen Sollicitationas, http://www.hiddennolonger.com , appendix 9), nor according to the depraved values of catholic clergy and officials.

This is false, and easily researched.

Rape of children by clerics IS a crime under canon law – see canon 1395:

Can. 1395 §2. A cleric who in another way has committed an offense against the sixth commandment of the Decalogue, if the delict was committed by force or threats or publicly or with a minor below the age of sixteen years, is to be punished with just penalties, not excluding dismissal from the clerical state if the case so warrants.

Pope Benedict XVI raised the age stated there from 16 to 18 a few years ago. Thus a Catholic bishop, priest, or deacon having sex with a minor under any circumstances is a crime under canon law.

The issue with Crimen Sollicitationis is that it pertains to the crime of "solicitation", which pertains only to situations where a priest leads someone to a sexual sin (whether with himself or another person) in the context of Confession. It is a highly specialized situation. Know also that Catholic canon law has changed a lot since 1962, including a new Code being issued. What I quoted above is from that newer Code from 1983.

Also, as an aside, Archbishop Carlson was an idiot in how he handled his situation before the media.
