These types of missions are USCG, and they have a forward operating base in Barrow, much closer than Elmendorf.
They don't even mention CG in the article.
Also, most people come to Anchorage to have a baby, especially if they're having complications. The "hospital" in Bethel would not be considered a hospital in most parts of the country.
