/pol/ unironically has more free thinkers than this place. A lot more atrociously retarded scumbags as well, but most here are too invested in their narrative of choice to even entertain the possibility of anything else. /pol/ discusses and argues, /qr/ proselytizes and shouts down non-believers.
The difference there is that there are many conflicting narratives coming into contact with each other and duking it out in an ideological battle of wits, memes and shitposting. People debate, seek out those who would challenge their worldviews and change over time according to new information. It's chaotic and frequently disgusting, but much more enlightening in the end.
Here, it very often comes down to "believe in our Q God or GTFO." Same discussions over and over for years, no room for interpretation, no tolerance of those who might even slightly question the veracity of the Q phenomenon. It's just "SHILL SHILL SHILL SHILL SHILL SHILL" at anyone who speaks up. That's closer to religious fanaticism than free thought, and it's rubs a lot of people open to new information that can be learned here the wrong way.
