Joe Biden Accuses Trump DOD Staff of Risking National Security by Obstructing Transition

President-elect Joe Biden is accusing the Trump administration’s senior political staff within the Department of Defense (DOD) and other agencies of putting national security at risk by obstructing the White House transition process.

Biden, who campaigned for the presidency on a platform of restoring America’s standing across the globe, made the remarks Monday in Wilmington, Delaware, when discussing the national security and foreign policy challenges his administration is set to inherit. At the event, Biden accused senior political officials within President Donald Trump’s administration of refusing to cooperate with the official handover of power.

“For some agencies, our teams received exemplary cooperation from the career staff in those agencies,” Biden said. “From others, most notably the Department of Defense, we’ve encountered obstruction from the political leadership of that department.”

Arguing that America’s national security infrastructure had been “hollowed out” over the past four years, the president-elect claimed senior administration officials were putting national security at further risk by refusing to cooperate with the transition. Biden, most notably, suggested such “obstruction” could create a “window of confusion … that our advertisers may try to exploit” in the days after his administration takes office.

“Right now as our nation is in a period of transition, we need to make sure that nothing is lost in the handoff between administration [sic],” he said. “My team needs a clear picture of our forced posture around the world and our operations to deter our enemies.”

Biden also singled out the DOD and the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for supposedly refusing to grant his team “full visibility into the budget planning underway.”

“As I said from the beginning, we’ve encountered roadblocks from the political leadership of the Department of Defense and the Office of Management and Budget,” Biden said.

“Right now, we just aren’t getting all the information we need from the outgoing administration in key national security areas,” he added. “It’s nothing short, in my view, of irresponsibility.”

Biden’s transition team did not return requests for comment on this story.

The president-elect’s accusation that the senior political officials within the DOD are obstructing the transition process has received pushback from acting Defense Secretary Chris Miller. Miller, who succeeded former Defense Secretary Mark Esper in November, released a statement in mid-December after Axios reported DOD officials were delaying meetings with Biden’s transition team.

At the time, Miller said the DOD had only postponed one day of meetings with Biden’s staff because of logistical planning for the distribution of the coronavirus vaccine.

“We have supported 139 interview sessions [with] more than 200 DoD personnel … disclosed thousands of pages of non-public and classified documents,” Miller stated. “At no time has the Department canceled or declined any interview.”

Computer repairman at center of Hunter Biden laptop scandal sues Twitter

A Delaware computer repairman who went public with the sordid contents of Hunter Biden’s hard drive is now suing Twitter for defamation — claiming its content moderation unfairly branded him a “hacker.”

In October, the Post exclusively reported on the tranche of damaging documents on the laptop which was left at John Paul Mac Isaac’s repair store in April 2019 but never collected.

The emails detailing Hunter Biden’s shady overseas business dealings are reportedly now part of a federal tax probe into President-elect Joe Biden’s scandal-scarred son but social media giant Twitter immediately blocked users from sharing it online, claiming the reporting relied on “hacked materials.”

Isaac is now suing Twitter for defamation in US District Court, claiming the company decided to “communicate to the world that [Mac Isaac] is a hacker.”

Issac claimed that his business received threats and negative reviews after Twitter’s moderation and he is “now widely considered a hacker.” He also suffered from personal threats.

In his suit, the Delaware man said he was forced to close his store and alleges that Twitter acted with “malicious intent” by claiming that he had hacked Hunter Biden’s laptop.

According to the report, Issac says that his business received threats and negative reviews after Twitter’s moderation and he is “now widely considered a hacker.”

He is demanding $500 million in damages and a public retraction from the company.

According to Issac, the customer who brought in the MacBook Pro for repair in 2019 never paid for the service or retrieved it, or a hard drive on which its contents were stored. He was unable after repeated attempts to contact the client.

Before turning over the laptop to the FBI in December, Isaac made a copy of the hard drive and later gave it to former Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s lawyer, Robert Costello.

Steve Bannon, former adviser to President Trump, told The Post about the existence of the hard drive in late September and Giuliani provided The Post with a copy of it.

In his suit, Isaac said he had no knowledge the Post was going to publish the contents of the laptop.

“Plaintiff was unaware that the NY POST had information from the hard drive or that a story was going to be published,” the suit read.

“Plaintiff did not want his name released to the public nor did he give authorization to Giuliani, [Giuliani’s attorney] Costello, or the NY POST to release his name.”

Hillary Clinton Met With CCP ‘Undercover Intel Ops’ Group While Bill Floated Paid Speeches

A delegation from a Chinese Communist Party-run think tank identified by the U.S. government as carrying out “undercover intelligence gathering” operations and seeking to coerce foreign actors into backing the Chinese Communist Party’s “preferred policies” met with Hillary Clinton and a host of high-level military leaders during the Obama-Biden administration, The National Pulse can reveal.

The exchange with the controversial group – China Association for International Friendly Contact (CAIFC) – occurred in October of 2009, while Clinton was serving as Secretary of State. The CAIFC delegation, composed of China’s former top military leaders, visited Clinton after stopping in Hawaii to meet with American generals.

“The leader of the Delegation of the CAIFC was [the] previous chief of the general staff of People’s Liberation Army Xiong Guangkai, the Secretary General was Vice Chairman of the CAIFC Li Xiaohua, and the main members include previous commander of air force Yu Zhenwu, previous commander in Lanzhou military region Li Qianyuan and previous president of National Defense University Pei Huailiang and previous commander of East China Sea Fleet Zhao Guojun,” CAIFC’s summary of the event notes.

In addition to meeting with the aforementioned Chinese military leaders, the U.S. government also identifies the CAIFC as an integral component of China’s United Work Front, which aims “to co-opt and neutralize sources of potential opposition to the policies and authority of its ruling Chinese Communist Party.”

“The United Front strategy uses a range of methods to influence overseas Chinese communities, foreign governments, and other actors to take actions or adopt positions supportive of Beijing’s preferred policies,” the U.S.-China Security and Economic Review commission’s report cautions.

The report singled out CAIFC, noting it is a “front” for the Chinese military:

“CAIFC is a front for the former PLA GPD which may now report directly to the PLA Central Military Commission’s Political Work Department.”

“CAIFC has additional ties to the Ministries of State Security, Civil Affairs, and Foreign Affairs, and it is a platform for deploying undercover intelligence gatherers,” the commission adds.

While in Hawaii, the Chinese Communist Party delegation met with a group of several senior, retired American military officials led by Admiral William Owens. Owens was appointed by former President Bill Clinton to serve as the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the second-ranking military office in the United States, in 1994.

“The senior generals of China and the United States had a frank and extensive discuss on furthering the relations between arms of China and the United States and exchanged their ideas on the issues of common interests,” CAIFC’s summary of the group’s exchanges described.

More than a Million Americans Disregarded Public Health Travel Warnings on Sunday

U.S. airports screened well over one million people on Sunday, the highest number since the beginning of the pandemic in March, according to the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA).

Two days following Christmas, TSA screened roughly 1.28 million passengers. While that number is still significantly lower than last year’s, it marks the biggest day of travel since officials across the nation began to take serious action against the Chinese coronavirus in March.

According to Reuters, Sunday “was the sixth day in the last 10 that volume surpassed 1 million” despite the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) cautioning Americans to avoid nonessential domestic travel as cases of the virus spike across the country.

“Travel can increase your chance of spreading and getting COVID-19. Postponing travel and staying home is the best way to protect yourself and others from COVID-19,” the CDC said.

The CDC has also urged testing before and after travel, contending that it could reduce the risk of spreading the Wuhan virus. The agency suggests getting tested 1-3 days prior to a flight, as well as 3-5 days after travel. It also urges individuals to “stay home for 7 days after travel,” even if he or she tests negative.

“If you don’t get tested, it’s safest to stay home for 10 days after travel,” the CDC states.

Similarly, over one million people passed through security checkpoints the weekend prior to Christmas, indicating that Americans planned to proceed with their holiday plans despite warnings from officials across the nation.

Overall, however, the volume of people traveling this year is down significantly, with U.S. airports screening just over 10 million people in the last 10 days compared to roughly 25 million in the same time period in 2019, per Reuters.

The 7-day moving average positivity rate currently stands at 10.3 percent, down nearly a full percentage point from the 11.2 percent reported last week, according to the Johns Hopkins COVID Tracking Project.

White House coronavirus response coordinator Dr. Deborah Birx is among officials who have not heeded to CDC warnings to limit nonessential travel, traveling to a vacation property in Delaware after Thanksgiving with her family last month. Several Democrat politicians — including California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), and Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker — have also come under fire for violating their own purported beliefs.

FAA Gives Green Light For Small Drones To Fly Over People And At Night

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) today announced final rules for Unmanned Aircraft (UA), commonly known as drones. The new rules will require Remote Identification (Remote ID) of drones and allow operators of small drones to fly over people and at night under certain conditions. These rules come at a time when drones represent the fastest-growing segment in the entire transportation sector – with currently over 1.7 million drone registrations and 203,000 FAA-certificated remote pilots.

This is a major step in allowing companies to utilize drones for deliveries.

The FAA says Remote ID will help mitigate risks associated with expanded drone operations, such as flights over people and at night, and both rules support technological and operational innovation and advancements.

“These final rules carefully address safety, security and privacy concerns while advancing opportunities for innovation and utilization of drone technology,” said U.S. Secretary of Transportation Elaine L. Chao.

Remote ID (PDF) is a major step toward the full integration of drones into the national airspace system. Remote ID provides identification of drones in flight as well as the location of their control stations, providing crucial information to our national security agencies and law enforcement partners, and other officials charged with ensuring public safety. Airspace awareness reduces the risk of drone interference with other aircraft and people and property on the ground.

Equipping drones with Remote ID technology builds on previous steps taken by the FAA and the drone industry to integrate operations safely into the national airspace system. Part 107 of the federal aviation regulations currently prohibits covered drone operations over people and at night unless the operator obtains a waiver from the FAA. The new FAA regulations jointly provide increased flexibility to conduct certain small UAS without obtaining waiver.

“The new rules make way for the further integration of drones into our airspace by addressing safety and security concerns,” said FAA Administrator Steve Dickson. “They get us closer to the day when we will more routinely see drone operations such as the delivery of packages.”

The Remote ID rule (PDF) applies to all operators of drones that require FAA registration. There are three ways to comply with the operational requirements:

  1. Operate a standard Remote ID drone that broadcasts identification and location information of the drone and control station;

  1. Operate a drone with a Remote ID broadcast module (may be a separate device attached to the drone), which broadcasts identification, location, and take-off information; or

  1. Operate a drone without Remote ID but at specific FAA-recognized identification areas.
