Due to forecasted inclement weather, the 55th Wing Commander has directed an installation closure for Offutt Air Force Base, effective 0001L, Tuesday, Dec. 29. Only those personnel designated by their unit leaders as essential during inclement weather should report for duty. All base services will be closed, including the Main Exchange, Commissary, Base / Dental Clinic, lab and pharmacy. All appointments will need to be rescheduled. As always, please keep safety in mind. If you are required to report for duty and conditions are not favorable, contact your supervisor. those individuals who are teleworking should work with their supervisor regarding meetings and other duties assigned. The conditions for reopening will be evaluated on Tuesday afternoon. In addition, with the closure the Bellevue Gate will be open from 0600-1730.

I watched the weather this evening and they were calling for 3 to 5 inches but there may be some sleet. The last time Offutt closed their runway was flooded. It does not seem like the weather tomorrow is going to be that bad . This does not make sense.
