These Are The House Republicans Who Voted With Trump On Both The NDAA Veto And $2,000 Stimulus Checks

The House of Representatives voted on two bills Monday night with many Republicans breaking with President Donald Trump, leaving only a handful of GOP lawmakers who stood by the president on both votes.

The first vote was to increase the coronavirus relief payments from the latest COVID-19 relief aid package from $600 to $2,000, something Trump supports. In a 275-134 vote, the House passed the bill, which will now head to the Senate. The House needed a two-thirds of majority for it to pass.

The second vote was to override Trump’s veto of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), making it the first time the House has overridden a veto from Trump. The vote was 322-87 to override Trump’s veto. The NDAA, for the fiscal year 2021, passed both the House and the Senate but was vetoed by Trump on Dec. 23.

Trump said that the NDAA “fails to include critical national security measures, includes provisions that fail to respect our veterans and our military’s history, and contradicts efforts by my Administration to put America first in our national security and foreign policy actions.”

The president also said it would be a “gift to China and Russia.”

Several of Trump’s allies broke with him on the House floor, voting against the president’s veto, such as Louisiana Republican Rep. Mike Johnson, Tennessee Republican Rep. Mark Green, Montana Republican Rep. Greg Gianforte, Mississippi Republican Rep. Trent Kelly, Alabama Republican Rep. Mo Brooks, and Texas Republican Rep. Dan Crenshaw.

HERE ARE THE HOUSE REPUBLICANS WHO VOTED WITH TRUMP ON BOTH ISSUES:

Kentucky Rep. James Comer

Florida Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart

Texas Rep. Michael Burgess

Louisiana Rep. Clay Higgins

New York Rep. Chris Jacobs

West Virginia Rep. David McKinley

Indiana Rep. Greg Pence

New York Rep. Tom Reed

Missouri Rep. Jason Smith

New York Rep. Lee Zeldin

Trump also said that the NDAA “fails even to make any meaningful changes to Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act” and “includes language that would require the renaming of certain military installations.” Trump said Section 230 must be repealed.

PA Republican lawmakers: Analysis finds presidential election numbers don't add up

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WJAC) — A group of Republican lawmakers say they’ve performed an extensive analysis of election day data and they’ve found “troubling” discrepancies.

According to State Rep. Frank Ryan (R-Lebanon), 17 lawmakers sponsored and participated in the analysis.

Ryan, who is a certified public accountant, says they discovered discrepancies between the numbers of total votes counted and total number of voters who voted in the 2020 General Election which is making them question how the results could have been certified by Gov. Tom Wolf and Secretary of the Commonwealth Kathy Boockvar.

According to Ryan, the analysis compared official county election results to the total number of voters who voted Nov. 3, as recorded by the Department of State.

Ryan says they found that 6,962,607 total ballots were reported as being cast, while DoS/SURE system records indicated that only 6,760,230 total voters actually voted.

Among the 6,962,607 total ballots cast, 6,931,060 total votes were counted in the presidential race, including all three candidates on the ballot and write-in candidates, according to Ryan.

He says the difference of 202,377 more votes cast than voters voting, together with the 31,547 over- and under-votes in the presidential race, adds up to a discrepancy of 170,830 votes, which is more than twice the reported statewide difference between Donald Trump and Joe Biden.

Pennsylvania’s election results were certified Nov. 24 and Gov. Wolf issued a certificate of ascertainment of presidential electors stating that Biden received 80,555 more votes than Trump.

The group of lawmakers released the following joint statement:

“We were already concerned with the actions of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the Executive branch, and election officials in certain counties contravening and undermining the Pennsylvania Election Code by eliminating signature verification, postmarks, and due dates while allowing the proliferation of drop boxes with questionable security measures and the unauthorized curing of ballots, as well as the questionable treatment of poll watchers, all of which created wholesale opportunities for irregularities in the 2020 presidential election.”

“However, we are now seeing discrepancies on the retail level which raise even more troubling questions regarding irregularities in the election returns. These findings call into question the accuracy of the SURE system, consistency in the application of the Pennsylvania Election Code from county to county, and the competency of those charged with oversight of elections in our Commonwealth.

“These numbers just don’t add up, and the alleged certification of Pennsylvania’s presidential election results was absolutely premature, unconfirmed, and in error.”

Fucking WOW CCP PROPAGANDA????

China grants 18 trademarks in 2 months to Trump, daughter

SHANGHAI (AP) — The Chinese government granted 18 trademarks to companies linked to President Donald Trump and his daughter Ivanka Trump over the last two months, Chinese public records show, raising concerns about conflicts of interest in the White House.

In October, China’s Trademark Office granted provisional approval for 16 trademarks to Ivanka Trump Marks LLC, bringing to 34 the total number of marks China has greenlighted this year, according to the office’s online database. The new approvals cover Ivanka-branded fashion gear including sunglasses, handbags, shoes and jewelry, as well as beauty services and voting machines.

The approvals came three months after Ivanka Trump announced she was dissolving her namesake brand to focus on government work.

China also granted provisional approval for two “Trump” trademarks to DTTM Operations LLC, headquartered at Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue in New York. They cover branded restaurant, bar and hotel services, as well as clothing and shoes.

The marks will be finalized if there is no objection during a 90-day comment period.

All the trademarks were applied for in 2016.

“These trademarks were sought to broadly protect Ms. Trump’s name, and to prevent others from stealing her name and using it to sell their products,” Peter Mirijanian, a spokesman for Ivanka Trump’s ethics attorney, said in an email. “This is a common trademark practice, which is why the trademark applications were granted.”

Both the president and his daughter have substantial intellectual property holdings in China. Critics worry that China, where the courts and bureaucracy are designed to reflect the will of the ruling Communist Party, could exploit those valuable rights for political leverage.

There has also been concern that the Trump family’s global intellectual property portfolio lays the groundwork for the president and his daughter, who serves as a White House adviser, to profit from their global brands as soon as they leave office.

“Ivanka receives preliminary approval for these new Chinese trademarks while her father continues to wage a trade war with China. Since she has retained her foreign trademarks, the public will continue to have to ask whether President Trump has made foreign policy decisions in the interest of his and his family’s businesses,” wrote Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, a government watchdog group that first published the news about Ivanka Trump brand’s new Chinese trademarks.

Lawyers for Donald Trump in Beijing declined to comment.

Companies register trademarks for a variety of reasons. They can be a sign of corporate ambition, but many companies also file defensively, particularly in China, where trademark squatting is rampant. Trademarks are classified by category and may include items that a brand does not intend to market. Some trademark lawyers also advise clients to register trademarks for merchandise made in China, even if it’s not sold there.

China has said it handles all trademark applications equally under the law.

Nikki Haley dubs 2020 'the year socialism went mainstream'

The rumored 2024 GOP presidential hopeful is speaking out 'for the sake of America’s future'

Socialism became more accepted in 2020 and is on its way to becoming the default economic policy for Democratic politicians, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley warned Monday.

Taking to Twitter, the high-profile Republican wrote, "2020 was the year socialism went mainstream."

Calling socialism a "dangerous ideology" the former governor of South Carolina noted it "has failed everywhere it has been tried & ruined countless lives."

Worse, she also wrote, "it is on its way to becoming the default economic policy of the Democratic Party. This terrifying trend threatens the future of every American."

In another tweet, she stated, "The left believes that government knows best. If the past year has taught us anything, it’s that when govt dictates how the economy is run, Americans suffer. With the Biden admin set to take power, now is the time to renew the fight for capitalism."

The rumored 2024 GOP presidential hopeful also posted an article from Stand for America, a website and advocacy group she started.

In a posting entitled, "2020 In Review: Socialism Rising," Haley offered more thoughts on socialism. "With the Biden administration set to take power, now is the time to renew the fight for capitalism and opportunity for all — and against socialism and its suffering," Haley wrote.

The one-time clothing executive declared, "Now is the time to rally our fellow citizens to ensure that every American can achieve their dreams and bring our country and people to new heights of achievement. The only way socialism wins is if we don’t show up. So let’s show up, stand up, and speak out, for the sake of America’s future."

In the "2020 in Review" post, her group linked to a New York Post article featuring polling that socialism wasn't actually popular among Americans and faced considerable opposition from the country. The poll by Rasmussen and the conservative Heartland Institute reported that 75% of Americans said they preferred free-market capitalism over socialism.

Spain Plans A "Registry" For Those Who Refuse COVID Vaccine

As Europe begins vaccinating the first wave of high-priority patients, a "glitch" has already emerged: many health-care workers and others have refused to take the vaccine, as skepticism and suspicion remain elevated.

A similar phenomenon has played out in the US, but to a less intense degree. But the situation, which we discussed last night, is now one of a variety of reasons, from a shortage of supplies and raw materials, to an uncooperative populace, that public-health officials are growing worried about hitting lofty vaccination targets.

And so, in Spain at least, government bureaucrats are fighting back, as Health Minister Salvador Illa warned the country would set up a "registry" for everybody who refuses the vaccine.

"What will be done is a registry, which will be shared with our European partners… of those people who have been offered it and have simply rejected it," he said.

"It is not a document which will be made public and it will be done with the utmost respect for data protection."

He added that the registry would not be made public, or delivered to employers, which begs the question: why else would the government keep a database of that information?

An AFP report on the health minister's remarks wasn't exactly clear about the motive, which leads us to believe that it's just another tactic by the Spanish government, which has sworn up and down, like other European governments, that vaccinations wouldn't be mandatory,.

Polls released over the last couple of months appear to reflect a steep and unexplained drop in the number of respondents who claim to be skeptical, or otherwise indicate that they would like to wait before getting the vaccine, has plunged as the first doses have been doled out and administered.

Spain's government expects to have between 15MM and 20MM people out of its population of 47MM vaccinated against the virus by June in order to salvage next summer's tourism season.

"The way to defeat the virus is to vaccinate all of us or the more the better," Illa said.

Speculation has also been brewing about what might happen to those who refuse to inoculate themselves, and/or their children, even as public officials have talked up the importance of "transparency" and - of course - freedom of individual choice.

To be sure, the Spanish aren't alone. Many other Europeans share their anxieties, which have been stoked by government table-pounding about vaccine safety (any skepticism is verboten), the rapid pace of development, and the use of the new mRNA technology. For example, independent pollster Alpha Research said its recent survey suggested that fewer than one in five Bulgarians from the first groups to be offered the vaccine - frontline medics, pharmacists, teachers and nursing home staff - planned to volunteer to get a shot. A recent IFOP poll found that roughly 41% of French would take the shot if available, which means nearly 60% would not.

Which is why, looking ahead, we wouldn't be surprised to see more heavy handed measures employed (immunity passports?) as officials grow increasingly desperate to hit their (largely speculative) herd immunity targets.

Alec Baldwin's wife hit with allegations that she has lied for years about her Spanish heritage

Hilaria Baldwin says, 'I am a white girl. Let's be very clear that Europe has a lot of white people in there and my family is white.'

Hilaria Baldwin, the wife of actor Alec Baldwin, has been hit with a barrage of accusations claiming that she has embellished and even falsified aspects of her heritage, with several critics comparing her to Rachel Dolezal, the white woman notorious for falsely claiming to be African American for years.

The Daily Mail reported that "the online frenzy over Hilaria's heritage began on Dec. 21 when a woman tweeted: 'You have to admire Hilaria Baldwin's commitment to her decade long grift where she impersonates a Spanish person.'"

In a thread, the Twitter user posted a series of videos purporting to show Hilaria allegedly faking a Spanish accent during media appearances, such as "pretending not to know how to say cucumber in English."

It turns out that the wife of the famous Trump-hating actor was actually born and raised in Boston to parents whose roots in America go back for several generations, but she has claimed more than once that she was born in Mallorca, Spain.

According to Page Six, her father's American lineage can be traced back to the Revolutionary War. The outlet noted that "after decades of living in Boston with their daughter, [Hilaria Baldwin's parents] retired to Mallorca in 2011 when Hilaria was 27 years old, thus making her on-again, off-again Spanish accent even more bizarre."

Hilaria claimed in an interview earlier this year that she moved to the United States from Spain at 19 in order to attend New York University. The Mail pointed out that "it has since emerged Hilaria, who was born Hillary Hayward-Thomas, attended $64,900-a-year The Cambridge School of Weston in Massachusetts."

People claiming to be Hilaria's former classmates at the school also wrote on social media that she did not have a Spanish accent growing up. Meanwhile, a video from years ago shows Alec Baldwin telling David Letterman on "The Late Show" that his "wife is from Spain," as he does an impression of her thick accent.

Hilaria, 36, addressed the claims as online fervor grew — and more clips surfaced — raising questions over whether she embellished her past. Taking to Instagram, she confessed that her given name is Hillary and explained to her followers, "Yes, I am a white girl. I am a white girl. Let's be very clear that Europe has a lot of white people in there and my family is white."

She added, "Culturally, I grew up with two cultures so it's really as simple as that."

What was the reaction?

Alec Baldwin also issued a video message in the aftermath without tackling the issue head-on, saying Twitter "is a lot of s***."

"There's been a lot of things that have been said lately about people that I love, that I care about deeply, which are ridiculous," the 62-year-old actor said. "I mean, just ridiculous."

But critics were not convinced. The top story on the New York Post Monday night was an opinion piece claiming, "It's not just her name, Hilaria Baldwin's entire life is a fake."

The Washington Examiner's Tiana Lowe wrote that Hilaria "became Hollywood's Rachel Dolezal because of our sniveling, bootlicking press."

Several on social media have admitted to being gripped by the revelations with many saying they cannot turn away from the details. Fox News' Lisa Boothe tweeted, "The Hilaria Baldwin story is amazing. I can't stop reading about it."

‘Interviews with over 400 officials & 5000 pages of documents’: Pentagon pushes back against Biden’s claim it obstructs transition

The Pentagon has dismissed claims by President-elect Joe Biden that its political leadership is hampering transition by withholding information on national security, arguing it has been in constant touch with the Biden team.

Shortly after Biden took a swipe at the Department of Defense, among other agencies that he accused of obstructing the transition, Acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller shot back, saying that the Pentagon has gone to greater lengths than “recent administrations” in facilitating the process.

“The Department of Defense has conducted 164 interviews with over 400 officials, and provided over 5,000 pages of documents – far more than initially requested by Biden’s transition team,” Miller said in a statement on Monday.

The sum of efforts the Pentagon has put into the process so far “already surpass those of recent administrations with over three weeks to go,” he went on, noting that additional interviews with Biden staffers have been already scheduled for the end of the year on the issues of Covid-19 response and cybersecurity, as well as for early January.

Refuting Biden’s insinuations that Trump’s Pentagon appointees have undermined the transition by restricting access to sensitive national security information, Miller said that his department would continue to provide Biden’s team “access to classified and controlled non-public information,” as well as with “confirmation support” for Biden’s future appointees.

The statement comes as a thinly-veiled rebuke to Biden’s criticism of the department earlier on Monday. Speaking in Wilmington, Delaware, the would-be commander-in-chief singled out the Department of Defense and the Office of Management and Budget as the two agencies whose political leadership had planted “roadblocks” in the way of the transition.
