ty bake!

Ok..I think I have figured out something…

How 'da $$ flows…

State Schools…

All have private foundations for donations…

Most States have excluded these foundations from open records requests where donations are concerned…

These F9undations take in millions anyway…easy peasy to launder foreign donations and foreign money for bribes, etc.

Wonder how tight Kemp is with the UGA foundation?

"Are there other records that may be exempt from disclosure under the Open Records Act?

Yes, the Act contains a list of approximately 50 exemptions that may apply to all or part of otherwise public records. If a public record contains both exempt and non-exempt material, the exempt portion must be removed and the remaining non-exempt material disclosed. The exemptions most relevant to UGA are:

• medical and veterinary records and other materials involving matters of personal privacy;

• records relating to pending investigations;

• records required by the federal government to be kept confidential, such as student educational records;

• trade secrets and certain information of a proprietary nature;

certain research data, records, or information that has not been published, patented, or otherwise publicly disseminated;

personal and financial information of donors;

• confidential evaluations submitted to a public agency in connection with the hiring of a public employee."

Might be interesting to open records some of these guys onpayoutsnot donations…

"Gov. Brian Kemp appointed two new members to the powerful Georgia Board of Regents on Tuesday after he used a technical error that Nathan Deal made in his last days as governor to force the vacancies, leading to more control over the state's higher education system.

Kemp used the openings to appoint Sam Holmes, a commercial real estate executive with CBRE; and Jose Perez, the retired head of Target Market Trends and a Gwinnett Republican. He also re-appointed Dean Alford, a veteran regents member with ties to the state's GOP establishment."

"The annual Regents’ Scholarship Gala included Governor Brian P. Kemp and First Lady Marty Kemp as well as individuals representing USG’s 26 institutions, supporters, donors, alumni and businesses. Among the attendees were state elected officials, members of the Board of Regents and presidents from USG’s colleges and universities.

The need-based scholarships funded by the gala will be awarded for the 2020-21 academic year. Each institution’s president selects scholarship recipients at their respective campuses. Over the 16 years it has held this annual event, the USG Foundation has awarded more than $16.5 million to support the scholarship program, faculty recognition and key USG initiatives."
