The White House is working to fast-track an appointment of a judge from a trial court to a federal court of appeals.

The Trump Administration announced this week that it will nominate former South Carolina trial lawyer Marvin Quattlebaum Jr.

The move will place the former federal district judge on the bench in Richmond, Virginia—where he will take on his new position on the court of appeals.

The announcement comes less than two months after the Senate confirmed Quattlebaum to the U.S. district court in South Carolina by an overwhelming majority.
