Even a lawfag-to-be like me knows that there must be diversity of citizenship (meaning no defendant lives in the same state as any plaintiff AND the amount in controversy exceeds not equals but exceeds $75,000) OR the complaint must present a Federal Question (i.e., a legal claim grounded in federal law, such as the U.S. Constitution or the United States Code or a regulation or some other such thing).
