regarding patience: it is very easy for a person in a pleasure palace to be patient. Once someone realizes they are in fact in prison being tortured on a daily basis, patience becomes harder.
Be sure the "patience" you fancy to possess is in fact patience and not normalcy bias or even friendly relationship with the system the bad guys have created. If the patience is real good for you.
