This article describes how a newspaper uses 'exclusive polls' to influence politicians into imposing further restrictions on the public. Using fear, they trick a tiny percentage of the public (2,969 readers) into consenting to further lockdowns, tiers etc and report it as if the public as a whole has consented to 'telling' the Prime Minister to implement the actions.
This is how the politicians 'rule by consent' and how they keep the assumed consent of the people in order to further their agendas.

BORIS JOHNSON has been urged to create a fifth tier to his lockdown system to control the rapid rise in coronavirus infections following a record-breaking day for the UK.
The Prime Minister was told to “save people from themselves” by imposing stricter rules after 53,135 new cases were declared – the highest figure for a 24-hour period since the beginning of the pandemic. Express.co.uk conducted an exclusive poll asking readers if they would like to see ministers take further action to stop the spread of the virus.
Six in 10 (58 percent; 1,734) said they would like to see Mr Johnson create a new band of Tier 5 restrictions while four in 10 (41 percent; 1,189) said he should not usher in tougher measures.
Just one percent (46) said they didn’t know.
In comments, many readers expressed their outrage at seeing others brazenly flout the rules already in place.
They questioned if more restrictions would really help to quell the surge in cases if people are failing to abide by the existing rules.
One reader wrote: “Too many people are ignoring the rules, especially over Christmas. This is why cases are escalating.
“Pointless having tiers if everyone just breaks them.
“People only have themselves to blame.”
A second person said creating Tier 5 would be the “only way” to prevent people from spreading the virus in their communities.
They said: “The deniers and reckless have to be saved from themselves, they are a menace to society!”
Other said more needs to be done to deter rulebreakers.
One reader argued that “something needs to be done to ensure compliance with the rules”, adding that the current punishment system is obviously not working.
And another the Prime Minister “should ensure that those who break the rules are fined, not just warned”.
And one reader who said they voted against Tier 5 in the poll said instead of placing different regions into different brackets, a full national shutdown should be ordered once again.
They wrote: “Voted no. Should just do a full lockdown as we had in March.
“Don't need to call it Tier 4 or Tier 5 etc. Just lockdown now.”
Their call was echoed by another, who said the coronavirus crisis in England had escalated to a point where new restrictions are essential.
The reader said: “Just put the whole of the country in full lockdown just as we did at the beginning of the virus for at least a month to stem the spread of COVID-19. Then we would where we stand.
“The economy and businesses have been disrupted for months now. Better to help stop the virus than let it drag on for another year.”
On Tuesday the number of fresh coronavirus infections recorded in a day surpassed 50,000 for the first time.
The poll ran from 12.15pm on Tuesday, December 29, to 11am on Wednesday, December 30.
A total of 2,969 readers took part.
