People are welcome to try it, but the hard truth is that unless so many people show up armed (10s of thousands) that the police literally have no ability to react, anyone brandishing firearms or weapons deemed "illegal" will catch cases that will destroy their lives for years.

Rittenhouse is a good example of this. That kid basically threw his life away. He has 10+ years of court appearances and millions of dollars in lawyer fees ahead of him, not to mention infamy for gunning down 3 people. He'll never have anything resembling a normal adult life.
