Members of Georgia’s Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Elections and members of the Senate Judiciary Committee held a hearing to study Georgia’s Election Laws, and the numerous voting irregularities in the 2020 presidential election.

The hearing comes after a Senate subcommittee held a hearing last week at the capitol to discuss perceived voting irregularities in November’s presidential election.

During the hearing witness Jovan Pulitzer was invited to testify on the irregularities in the November 3rd election.

Jovan Pulitzer is a brilliant inventor and author best known for creating and patenting CRQ and has founded companies that included seed investment rounds ranging from $1.6m to over $250m.

The Republican counties had a barcode up in the right-hand corner.

The votes from two different counties are printed differently.

Swiss Patient Dies Shortly After Receiving Pfizer COVID Vaccine

After an Israeli man reportedly died just 2 hours after receiving his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, authorities in the Swiss Canton of Lucerne said on Wednesday that one of the first people in the country to receive the vaccine has died, though whether his death had anything to do with the inoculation hasn't yet been determined.

The canton has yet to release any additional details about the exact amount of time that passed between the inoculation and the man's death.

Lucerne was the site of the first vaccinations in Switzerland beginning last week, with a shot from Pfizer and its German partner BioNTech given primarily to elderly people. Switzerland has received 107K vaccine doses, so far, and expects to get 250K per month starting next year.

"We are aware of the case," a spokesperson said, before adding that the death had been referred to Swiss drugs regulator Swissmedic. Swissmedic didn't comment further.

Pfizer and BioNTech’s vaccine is the only vaccine approved, so far, in Switzerland. The EU has just started approving the jabs on an emergency-use basis, with the first injections starting earlier this week.

Retired Army Colonel and PA State Senator Doug Mastriano Calls on Deputy AG to Investigate Fraudulent PA Presidential Election Results

Retired Army Colonel and Pennsylvania State Senator Doug Mastriano wrote the Acting Deputy Attorney General Richard Donoghue on Monday on the general election voter irregularities and fraud in the 2020 presidential election.

The most damning evidence against Democrat fraud in the state is the fact that 205,122 more votes were counted in the state than the number of people who voted!

In his letter to Deputy AG Donoghue, Senator Mastriano lays out the undeniable evidence of voter fraud and irregularities in Pennsylvania this election. As a retired Army Colonel Mastriano wrote that the US spent millions of dollars on elections in Afghanistan, Iraq, Kosovo and Bosnia yet the election in Pennsylvania was not as free and safe as the election in war-torn Afghanistan.

Mastriano asked Donoghue to investigate the fraudulent election in his statge.

Second explosion heard near presidential palace in Yemen’s Aden after deadly blast at airport where unity govt arrived – reports

Local news have reported yet another explosion in Yemen, this time near the presidential palace, to which the new cabinet fled following the blast at Aden airport.

Yemen’s new government was transferred to the palace right after an explosion disrupted their arrival to Aden airport earlier today. It occurred as the officials were arriving to Aden from Riyadh, where cabinet members had a swearing-in ceremony that followed prolonged coalition talks brokered by the Saudis.

The destructive explosion at the airport resulted in more than 20 people being killed, and at least 60 injured, according to Salem Al-Shabhi, a senior health official who spoke to the Independent.

The new government was formed to cement an alliance between the Cabinet of Yemen, backed by Saudi Arabia, and the Southern Transitional Council. Amid the Yemeni civil war, both factions now stand against the Houthi rebels controlling the country’s North.

Earlier today, the Houthis denied responsibility for the airport attack.

EU and China conclude investment agreement ‘in principle’ after 6 years of talks

The president of the European Commission has confirmed that the EU and its second largest trading partner, China, have reached an agreement “in principle” to extend their existing trade and investment pact.

In a tweet on Wednesday, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that years of talks had been concluded.

“The EU has the largest single market in the world. We are open for business but we are attached to reciprocity, level playing field & values,” she wrote.

“Today, the EU & China concluded in principle negotiations on an investment agreement. For more balanced trade & business opportunities.”

A spokesperson for China’s Foreign Ministry said earlier this month that he believed an agreement could be reached between the pair before the end of 2020, as talks which started back in 2013 had entered their final phase.

Landslide buries sleeping Norwegian village, hundreds evacuated but 21 still reported missing

Some 21 people are missing and hundreds of people have been evacuated from their homes after a landslide ripped through a Norwegian village on Wednesday morning while people were still asleep, according to local media.

The landslide struck at around 4am local time on Wednesday, engulfing multiple houses with people inside and creating a giant crater in the Ask village in Gjerdrum, 19 miles (30 kilometers) north of the capital Oslo.

The crater measures roughly 300 by 700 meters and is apparently still moving.

Between 500 and 700 people have been evacuated from the area, with 13 injuries reported so far, including one person who is in a serious condition and being treated at Oslo University Hospital.

There have not yet been any reports of fatalities.

At least 14 buildings are said to have been affected by the event, which is now being referred to as a “disaster,” as announced by head of the police operation, Roger Pettersen, speaking to broadcaster NRK.

But local officials say more buildings could yet be affected.

Police believe that several people may be inside the landslide area, while drones and helicopters are monitoring the site, although rescue crews have not yet been physically deployed in the affected zone, according to reports.

“The situation is dramatic and confusing,” said the Mayor of Gjerdrum, Anders Østensen. “We are working hard to create a safer environment for the evacuees.”

There are close to 50 ambulances at the site, while 32 dogs from Norwegian Rescue Dogs are on standby before they are allowed to enter the landslide zone.

Tesla Model S Starts "Shooting Flames" After Driver Hears Mysterious "Loud Bang" While Driving

While Tesla is now facing scrutiny from both the U.S. and China over Model S suspension problems and the Model Y has been panned by Consumer Reports, the legacy issues with many Teslas - you know, either driving themselves into inanimate objects or randomly bursting into flames - have also apparently continued.

For example, just off of a Dallas thoroughfare last month, a Tesla Model S "erupted like a flamethrower" and started "shooting flames", according to a new article by the Washington Post.

The flames happened after the driver heard "metallic bangs", which he described as the sound of “if you were to drop an axle of a normal car” on the ground. He pulled the car off the road and, while standing by, watched it ignite in flames near the front passenger side wheel.

“This was shooting out like a flamethrower,” said the driver, Usmann Ahmad.

Jonathan Pollard, who served 30 years in US for spying for Israel, given hero's welcome by Netanyahu

Former US government intelligence analyst Jonathan Pollard – who spent 30 years in prison for spying on behalf of Israel – received the red carpet treatment from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Pollard – who was given Israeli citizenship in 1995, before being released from prison in 2015 – arrived in Israel with his wife Esther Pollard on Wednesday after travel restrictions that stopped him from leaving the United States were lifted.

Upon their arrival in Israel, Pollard and his wife lowered onto their hands and knees and kissed the ground, before being greeted by Netanyahu and presented with identity cards. Pollard and Netanyahu then engaged in a coronavirus guidance-friendly elbow bump, with Netanyahu telling the ex-spy who was born in Texas, “You're home.”

Pollard served 30 years in prison for selling top secret US government documents to Israel, and the incident caused a riff in US-Israeli relations for decades.

“We are ecstatic to be home at last after 35 years and we thank the people and the prime minister of Israel for bringing us home,” Pollard declared on Wednesday. “No one could be prouder of this country or this leader than we are.”

The former spy also said that he and his wife “hope to become productive citizens as soon and as quickly as possible and to get on with our lives here,” calling Israel “a wonderful country” with “a tremendous future.”

“It is the future of the Jewish people and we're not going anywhere,” Pollard proclaimed.

AP reported that the plane used to transport Pollard to Israel belongs to billionaire and top Republican Party and Donald Trump donor Sheldon Adelson, who was a vocal supporter for Pollard's release. Photographs taken on the plane showed Pollard and his wife in coronavirus face masks.

Several journalists and former intelligence officials criticized Pollard's warm welcome in Israel, calling him a traitor who was motivated by greed.

“I'll never understand this. Pollard was a traitor. You can believe that his sentence was harsh and that he served his time. But he is no hero. And it's embarrassing that he is treated like one,” protested Politico senior national correspondent Bryan Bender.

“Just to be clear, Pollard an American was spying on behalf of Israel, an ally and recipient of tons of financial aid from America. And they are now celebrating this traitor. How Trumpian,”added former FBI agent Joe Navarro.

Shocking Report Links Girl Scout Cookies to Child Sex Trafficking and Slave Labor

A shocking investigation by the Associated Press into child labor has revealed unsettling details about an ingredient in Girl Scout cookies and it its ties to child slave labor and sex trafficking. Palm oil. The $65 billion global palm oil industry is one of the largest food industries in the world and it is rooted in corruption and child abuse.

The AP’s report focused on two children, Ima and Olivia. Olivia is a Girl Scout in Tennessee who became worried about the ingredient in the cookies she was selling and its ties to child slave labor. Ima is a child slave.

As the AP reports:

Ima is among the estimated tens of thousands of children working alongside their parents in Indonesia and Malaysia, which supply 85% of the world’s most consumed vegetable oil. An Associated Press investigation found most earn little or no pay and are routinely exposed to toxic chemicals and other dangerous conditions. Some never go to school or learn to read and write. Others are smuggled across borders and left vulnerable to trafficking or sexual abuse. Many live in limbo with no citizenship and fear being swept up in police raids and thrown into detention.

The AP used U.S. Customs records and the most recently published data from producers, traders and buyers to trace the fruits of their labor from the processing mills where palm kernels were crushed to the supply chains of many popular kids’ cereals, candies and ice creams sold by Nestle, Unilever, Kellogg’s, PepsiCo and many other leading food companies, including Ferrero – one of the two makers of Girl Scout cookies.

“I am dreaming one day I can go back to school,” Ima told the AP, tears rolling down her cheeks.

According to the report, palm oil is contained in roughly half the products on supermarket shelves and in almost three out of every four cosmetic brands, though that can be hard to discern since it appears on labels under more than 200 different names.

Due to the unscrupulous means of production, companies attempt to conceal the source of their ingredients. Some say “sustainably produced” like the Girl Scout cookies, but as Olivia found, they also say “mixed.” The “mixed” designation on Girl Scout cookies means that some of the palm oil is sourced from child slaves.

“For 100 years, families have been stuck in a cycle of poverty and they know nothing else than work on a palm oil plantation,” said Kartika Manurung, who has published reports detailing labor issues on Indonesian plantations. “When I … ask the kids what they want to be when they grow up, some of the girls say, ‘I want to be the wife of a palm oil worker.’”

To be clear, some of these are children helping out in their family businesses attempting to pull themselves out of poverty — though an entire family may earn less in a day than a $5 box of Girl Scout Do-si-dos.

Sen. Marco Rubio doubles down on criticism of Dr. Fauci for purposely misleading on masks and herd immunity: 'I am appalled by his arrogance'

He's not letting the doctor off easy

Last weekend, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) went after Dr. Anthony Fauci for knowingly misleading the American public about the herd immunity threshold for the coronavirus.

The senator ripped Fauci's statements on face masks and herd immunity following an interview the doctor gave to the New York Times in which he admitted that he purposely misled Americans on just how many people would need to get the vaccination in order for the nation to reach herd immunity.

In a new op-ed posted at Fox News on Wednesday, Rubio went after Fauci again, this time detailing just what he found "appalling" about Fauci's history of misleading the public with the intent to "manipulate their behavior."

Rubio began by noting that most of the media have ignored Fauci's admission to the Times, and he then laid out just what the doctor admitted to:

The story is straightforward. For most of this year, Dr. Fauci and other scientists in our public health establishment have been telling Americans that about 60 to 70 percent of the nation would need a vaccine in order for us to reach herd immunity and make the coronavirus a non-issue.

But, speaking with The New York Times, Dr. Fauci admitted that he believes the real number is in fact significantly higher — perhaps 75 to 90 percent — and he declined to be forthright because he felt the country wasn't ready to hear it. Only now did he say that he feels he has the freedom to "nudge this up a bit" without discouraging the nation.

Though highly critical of Fauci's actions, the Florida senator did acknowledge that he believed the medical expert's intentions were good. But that didn't change the basic fact about what Fauci was guilty of: "lying to the American people in order to manipulate their behavior."

This is not how the government should operate, Rubio went on. The American people should be trusted with the truth and allowed to make decisions "for themselves armed with facts honestly presented by public officials."

The trouble with having unelected people like Dr. Fauci taking it upon themselves to purposely mislead the public in order to impact community behavior is that there is no accountability, Rubio said:

The American people deserve the truth; they also deserve accountability. When elected representatives make decisions, they can be held responsible by the public. But when public health officials with decades of experience and leadership within our nation's institutions short-circuit the political process and make these decisions themselves, they deny the American people that same opportunity — and to change course if desired.

After all, accountability is a central tenet of representative government. It's the best way to ensure that the vision of what is being enforced by decision-makers matches the values of the population who have elected them.

When it's time for tough decisions to be made as a community, "elected officials at every level of government must lead," Rubio added, not "unelected technocrats."

As evidence that such technocrats do not always make the best calls for public policy, nor do they have the only legitimate interpretation of facts, the senator pointed out Fauci's and other experts' history of recommendations on mask-wearing:

As the COVID-19 pandemic has made clear, things are never so clear-cut. For example, early on in the pandemic, there was a question of whether wearing a mask could be an effective tool to stop the spread.

In March, Dr. Fauci said "there's no reason to be walking around with a mask" and cautioned that "there are unintended consequences" with wearing them. That guidance was confounding at the time, and it quickly became politicized.

But some of the first people to make decisions not based on science were the scientists who, as Dr. Fauci admitted this past June, initially decided not to recommend masks to the general public because they were supposedly "concerned that it was at a time when personal protective equipment, including the N95 masks and the surgical masks, were in very short supply."

Rubio advised that, though Americans should still generally follow health guidelines, they should not place "blind faith in unelected celebrity scientists" and should "call them out" when they overstep their authority.

The senator closed by reiterating his disgust with Fauci's admitted lies.

"I am appalled by his arrogance," Rubio said. "If he wants to lead the nation, he should run for office."

ER Nurse Tests Positive For COVID 8 Days After Being Vaccinated

In the latest reminder that COVID vaccines might not be as protective as the highly publicized Phase 3 trial data suggests, a local ABC News affiliate station in San Diego just reported that a nurse who received the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine came down with the virus 8 days later.

This isn't unprecedented. Data from the Phase 3 trials indicated that it could take up to two weeks to develop protections from the virus after receiving the shot.

Court upholds bribery conviction of Chinese exec Patrick Ho linked to Hunter Biden

A federal appeals court in New York has upheld the bribery conviction of the former chairman of a think tank funded by a Chinese energy company linked to Hunter Biden.

The three-judge panel on Tuesday affirmed the December 2018 conviction of Patrick Ho Chi-ping, 70, a former Hong Kong government official, for violations involving the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act for trying to bribe high-ranking officials in Chad and Uganda.

The bribes were made to secure oil rights and in pursuit of lucrative businesses deals on behalf of the Chinese energy behemoth CEFC, which funded a think tank that touted a “special consultative status” with the United Nations and an office in Manhattan.

Chi-ping was the principal director of the think tank.

Ye Jianming, who had ties to the Chinese military and intelligence services, was the chairman of CEFC until he disappeared after being taken into custody by Chinese authorities in early 2018.

Documents obtained by The Post show Hunter Biden, the son of President-elect Joe Biden, reached a deal with Ye for half-ownership of a holding company that was expected to provide him with more than $10 million a year for making “introductions.”

Another document included an “Attorney Engagement Letter” executed in September 2017 in which Chi-ping, one of Ye’s top lieutenants, agreed to pay Hunter Biden a $1 million retainer for “Counsel to matters related to US law and advice pertaining to the hiring and legal analysis of any US Law Firm or Lawyer.”

In other correspondence between Hunter Biden and CEFC, he said that any deals struck would be “interesting for me and my family.”

An email sent to Hunter Biden in May 2017 included details of “remuneration packages” for six people involved in an unspecified business venture in which he was identified as “Chair / Vice Chair depending on agreement with CEFC.”

The email also outlined a “provisional agreement” under which 80 percent of the “equity,” or shares in the new company, would be split equally among four people whose initials correspond to the sender and three recipients, with “H” apparently referring to Hunter Biden.

It also listed “10 Jim” and “10 held by H for the big guy?”

The documents were discovered in a laptop Hunter Biden left in April 2019 at a computer repair shop in Wilmington, Del., and later seized by the FBI.

Joe Biden has not been accused of any wrongdoing and is not the subject of any investigations.

In June 2017, Hunter Biden pressed Ye to “quickly” wire him $10 million to fund a failing business venture, SinoHawk Holdings, which dissolved in October 2018, The Post reported.

DOJ Charges Kenyan National With Planning 9/11-Style Attack Inside United States

The al Qaeda-connected operative had completed the tests necessary to obtain his pilot’s license and had learned how to breach a cockpit door

The US Department of Justice recently announced charges against a Kenyan national who, as an operative of the al Qaeda connected al Shabaab terror group, was tasked with crafting and executing a 9/11-style attack on US soil.

According to the indictment, Cholo Abdi Abdullah, a 30-year-old Kenyan national, received orders from the al Shabaab commander responsible for the 2019 hotel attack in Nairobi to undertake a 9/11-style attack inside the US in the name of al Shabaab, al Qaeda’s branch in East Africa.

The indictment reveals that Abdullah traveled to the Philippines where he successfully took flight lessons and researched how to forcibly take control of an airliner, with the goal of slamming it into a high-rise building inside the United States.

Abdullah was taken into custody by the Philippine authorities in July of 2019. He was subsequently extradited to US custody on December 15, 2020 and charged with several terror-related offenses.

Plot, the indictment alleges, was initiated in 2016

According to the indictment, Abdullah “began the process of enrolling in” a flight school in the Philippines “in or about December 2016,” doing so “at the direction of” the same “senior” Shabaab commander who commanded the January 2019 hotel attack in Nairobi, Kenya.

Abdullah “sought to obtain pilot training, test flaws in airport security, and take other steps for hijacking a civil aircraft to use in conducting a terrorist attack on behalf of” al Shabaab, the indictment reads.

Abdullah attended the Philippine flight school from 2017 until mid-2019, Abdullah completing “the tests necessary to obtain his pilot’s license.”

While taking flight classes, Abdullah researched “how to breach a cockpit door from the outside” and sought “information about the tallest building in a major US city.” He also took preliminary steps to attain an American visa.

The federal indictment mentions “others known and unknown, at least one of whom is expected to be first brought to and arrested in the Southern District of New York,” who were part of the plot to recreate the horrors of September 11, 2001.

Any terror plot modeled after the 9/11 hijackings would necessarily involve multiple teams of hijackers. The indictment against Abdullah, however, does not specify how many al Qaeda operatives were instructed to train for the attack.

Mitch McConnell Introduces Bill that Gives $2K Stimulus Checks, Addresses Section 230, Creates Commission to Investigate Voter Fraud

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) on Tuesday introduced a bill that meets President Donald Trump’s three requests tied to signing the $2.3 trillion coronavirus relief and government spending bill — increasing the amount of individual stimulus checks to $2,000, addressing Section 230, and creating a commission to examine voter fraud.

In doing so, McConnell blocked Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s (D-NY) call for quick approval for increasing stimulus checks but promised the Senate would work to bring three of President Trump’s priorities “into focus” this week.

Upon announcing he would sign the multitrillion-dollar bill on Sunday, President Trump called on lawmakers to increase payments from $600 to $2,000, review Section 230, and begin an investigation into voter fraud.

The president said:

On Monday the House will vote to increase payments to individuals from $600 to $2,000. Therefore, a family of four would receive $5,200. Additionally, Congress has promised that Section 230, which so unfairly benefits Big Tech at the expense of the American people, will be reviewed and either be terminated or substantially reformed. Likewise, the House and Senate have agreed to focus strongly on the very substantial voter fraud which took place in the November 3 Presidential election. The Senate will start the process for a vote that increases checks to $2,000, repeals Section 230, and starts an investigation into voter fraud. Big Tech must not get protections of Section 230! Voter Fraud must be fixed! Much more money is coming. I will never give up my fight for the American people!

“Those are the three important subjects the president has linked together,” McConnell told his Senate colleagues. “This week the Senate will begin a process to bring these three priorities into focus.”

Indeed, that same day, the Kentucky Republican introduced a bill that addressed all three issues:

Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL) is among Democrat lawmakers who have soured at McConnell’s move, accusing him of attaching “poison pills” to the measure to increase stimulus checks.

“The bill that passed the House of Representatives guaranteed $2,000 per person. It’s on the desk of Mitch McConnell, the Republican Leader of the Senate, and what does he say?” he asked during an appearance on CNN’s Situation Room.

“I want to throw a few poison pills in there, see if I can discourage people from voting for this. Let me throw in a reform of the internet while we’re at it here. Republican Congressman Calls Out Trump Campaign’s Fundraising ‘Grift’

Illinois Republican Rep.Adam Kinzinger accused the Trump campaignWednesday morning of scamming supporters out of millions of dollars in post-election donations.

“Where I feel really bad though is just the people that are struggling during the pandemic that are giving President Trump’s campaign for this recount because they believe him, it’s just a scam. It’s a big grift,” Kinzinger said on CNN. “After an election, it has turned into an undermining of democracy, and that’s the differentiation.”

He claimed that “people that work hard for their money are giving their money to this because they’re convinced because the president’s telling them they can win, and they can’t.”

“All these members of congress that are posting crazy things so they can get a ton of followers and retweets and raise money,” Kinzinger closed. “I think we have to call it out finally because if we don’t people are just going to believe it.”

CNN reported Monday that the Trump campaign has sent more than 550 fundraising emails to its lists of supporters in recent weeks.

By December, the campaign and Republican National Committee had jointly raised more than $200 million in post-election donations.

The campaign did not respond by press time to Daily Caller’s inquiries on the subject.

Joe Biden’s HIV Policy Would Disproportionately Expose Black Americans to the Killer Disease

In an apparent attempt to pander to the hardline LGBT+ lobby, Joe Biden’s campaign website pledges to loosen legislation which would likely lead to an explosion in HIV cases in Black communities across America.

Biden’s campaign website explicitly states that he intends to decriminalize exposure and transmission of HIV, a disease that disproportionately affects Black Americans and a policy that would doubtlessly create a new wave of transmission and deaths in America’s black communities.

Per the Centers for Disease Control: “Blacks/African Americans account for a higher proportion of new HIV diagnoses and people with HIV, compared to other races/ethnicities. In 2018, blacks/African Americans accounted for 13% of the US population but 42% of the 37,832 new HIV diagnoses in the United States and dependent areas.”

The Biden campaign’s rationale appears to be to reduce “discrimination and stigma towards people with HIV/AIDS,” but those most likely to suffer are America’s Black communities and specifically, Black women, who accounted for 6 in 10 new HIV infections among women in 2016.

CBP Chief: Joe Biden Will Spur ‘Waves’ of ‘Uncontrolled Mass Migration’ to U.S.

President-elect Joe Biden’s plan to end a series of United States cooperative asylum agreements with Central America will spur “waves” of illegal immigration to the southern border, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Chief Mark Morgan says.

As Breitbart News reported, Joe Biden is planning to tear down President Donald Trump’s legal wall that he has built through U.S. agreements with Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador that have helped stem illegal immigration at the southern border and allow federal immigration officials to quickly return border crossers to their native countries.

Specifically, Biden’s advisers have suggested that they will eliminate U.S. agreements with Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador in the middle of the Chinese coronavirus crisis, risking a flood of Central American illegal immigration to the southern border.

In statements, Morgan warned that eliminating the agreements will lead to “waves of attempted illegal entries” similar to illegal immigration levels the U.S. saw in 2019.

Notably, Morgan said the U.S. agreements with Central America are critical to “protect the American homeland from uncontrolled mass migration during a global pandemic…”

Biden’s advisers are also looking to end the Center for Disease Control’s Title 42 order and Trump’s “Remain in Mexico” policy, which ensures that federal immigration officials can return border crossers to their native countries within hours and forces Mexico to house asylum applicants so they are not released into the interior of the U.S.

As Breitbart News reported, more than 67,000 border crossers were apprehended at the U.S.-Mexico border in November — more than double the roughly 33,500 who were apprehended in November 2019. About 58,500 of those arrested last month were single adults, while nearly 4,500 were Unaccompanied Alien Children (UACs).

In the first two months of fiscal year 2021, for instance, close to 135,000 border crossers were apprehended by Border Patrol. This accounts for a seven-year apprehension high during these months.

Rep.-Elect Luke Letlow Suffered Heart Attack During Coronavirus-Related Operation

Rep.-elect Luke Letlow, who passed away Tuesday while battling complications with the coronavirus, suffered a heart attack during an operation to assist in fighting off the virus, according to a report from the Monroe News-Star.

Letlow, the 41-year-old from Monroe, Louisiana, was treated in the intensive care unit at Ochsner LSU Health in Shreveport where he later died.

LSU Health Shreveport Chancellor G.E. Ghali confirmed that Letlow underwent an operation related to the coronavirus and entered cardiac arrest as the operation took place.

“It’s devastating to our entire team,” Ghali told the paper, saying he “had no underlying conditions.”

Letlow, who first announced he had tested positive for the coronavirus on December 18, was set to represent the people of Louisiana’s rural 5th congressional district after he won the seat with 62 percent of the vote in a runoff election earlier this month against state Rep. Lance Harris (R-Alexandria).

Letlow is survived by his wife Julia Barnhill Letlow, and two young children — Jeremiah, 3, and Jacqueline, 11 months.

“The family appreciates the numerous prayers and support over the past days but asks for privacy during this difficult and unexpected time,” spokesman Andrew Bautsch said in a statement. “A statement from the family along with funeral arrangements will be announced at a later time.”

Boris Johnson has “betrayed” Britain’s fishermen in the Brexit deal being voted on by Parliament on Wednesday, but nevertheless is deserving of some praise for underlining the Brexit process, veteran freedom campaigner Nigel Farage has said.

Writing on Tuesday, just a day before the deal agreed between the UK and the EU’s negotiators on Christmas Eve is due to be voted on in Parliament — with every indication it will pass — the Brexit leader said that while it would have been better to leave properly on a clean-break basis, Boris Johnson’s deal at least draws a line under the matter.

Whether it may allow the country in general to move on from over four years of Brexit drama, nevertheless the deal is far from perfect, Farage said, particularly pointing to his reading of the section on fishing.

Britain’s fishing waters are a long-standing sore point with the European Union, a matter of disappointment to Eurosceptics long before the Brexit referendum, and a major bone of contention in recent talks. Despite promises, accusations have been made that Britain’s fishermen have been seriously let down, or even sold out, by the British government, with the European Union continuing to enjoy major power over Britain’s territorial waters even after the country technically leaves the Union.

The situation on fishing stands to be damaging to the public perception of Mr Johnson’s deal, given the emphasis placed on the importance of national waters and the fate of fishing communities.

Writing in the Daily Telegraph, Mr Farage said of fishing:

This element of the deal is even worse than I had feared… Michel Barnier claimed that Britain will become an independent coastal state, but the truth is our nation still won’t own the fish that swim in its waters. The current terms of the UK common fisheries policy will continue and just 25 per cent of EU boats’ fishing rights in UK waters will be transferred to Britain’s fishing fleet up to 2026. Originally, it was expected that the EU’s rights would be cut by 80 per cent.

Nobody should underestimate the sense of betrayal in our coastal communities this has inspired. Even if after 2026 Britain wants to increase further its own quota allocation, it will have to pay compensation to the EU to do so. This is an outrageous humiliation. The EU should be paying Britain to fish up to six miles from our shores. Raw quota figures aside, Britain’s coastal communities deserve recompense for what has been done to them once again.

Moving to head off criticism of the fishing aspect of the deal, the UK government has announced a £100 million support package for British fishing, money it says will be used to modernise the fleet and processing facilities to make the industry “sustainable”.

Farage also expressed concern about the status of Northern Ireland in the deal — Ulster MPs are so disatisfied with the outcome of the deal they will be voting against it — and on financial services.

Assassins Dress as Nurses to Kill Hospital Patient in Mexican Border City

Assassins dressed as nurses to enter a hospital and kill a man who survived a shooting attack in the border city of Ciudad Juarez this week. Authorities did not say if the case is connected to the turf war between the Sinaloa and Juarez Cartels.

The murder took place this week at Social Security Institute #35 (IMSS), El Universal reported. Two assassins dressed as nurses and made their way to the fourth floor where 36-year-old Hector Antonio Ramirez was being treated. They shot him numerous times before making an escape.

During his hospital stay, Ramirez was guarded by Mexico’s National Guard since he was recovering from a previous shooting attack on December 17, El Universal reported. It remains unclear how the gunmen managed to elude the federal guards.

The assassins made their way out of the hospital to a getaway vehicle. No arrests have been announced in the case.

Authorities do not say if the murder is tied to the raging, years-long cartel violence plaguing Ciudad Juarez. The city is one of the busiest drug and human smuggling gateways into West Texas.

Republican Governor Brian Kemp refuses to get to the bottom of the brazen Democrat voter fraud that took place in his state to secure a win for Beijing Biden.

President Trump called for Kemp to resign while the Georgia Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Elections held a hearing on voting machine irregularities.

Despite the overwhelming voter fraud, Governor Kemp refuses to call a special session to overturn the election results.

UK’s House of Commons Approves EU Trade Deal, Bill Goes to Lords

MPs in the House of Commons passed the European Union Future Relationship bill, with the document now going to the House of Lords.

With the UK leaving the EU’s institutions at the end of the transition period at 11 pm on December 31st, 2020, Prime Minister Boris Johnson is aiming to have the whole bill — passing into law the UK-EU trade deal agreed in principle with Brussels on Christmas Eve — move through the House of Commons, House of Lords, and receive Royal Assent on Wednesday.

The third reading at 3 pm in the lower house saw the Ayes having it, at 521, the Noes with 73 — a majority of 448 — identical to the result of the second reading less than a quarter of an hour before.

The bill will now go to the House of Lords where, despite being heavily pro-Remain, it is still expected to pass. Debate and voting are still likely to take several hours, with Royal Assent from Queen Elizabeth II expected to take place very late tonight. With Royal Assent, the bill becomes law.

Conservative Brexiteer MPs had earlier this week expressed concern that they did not have enough time to scrutinise the 1,246-page document, but the legal team from the European Research Group, dubbed the Star Chamber, gave the deal its approval on Tuesday.

On the other side of the English Channel, the trade agreement is also going through its legal processes. While arrangements will come into force on January 1st, the deal will not be official until ratified by the European Parliament and then the European Council, which is expected to take place some time in January.

The process is on its way, with ambassadors from the EU-27 rubber-stamping it on Monday. The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and European Council President Charles Michel signed the deal on Wednesday.

Pence finally breaks with Trump: VP refuses to join Texas Republican Louie Gohmert's bid to stop Congress certifying Biden victory

Vice President Mike Pence refused to sign on to a plan that would upend Congress certifying the election on January 6 for President-elect Joe Biden.

Earlier this week, Rep. Louie Gohmert and Arizona's slate of Republican Electoral College 'electors' filed a federal lawsuit to get a judge to say Pence has the power to pick pro-Trump electors when he presides over the Congressional session where he will finalize the presidential election results.

Politico reported late Tuesday night that a legal filing in the case indicated that Gohmert and the electors' lawyers had reached out to Pence in advance, trying to work out a deal - and it was shot down.

'In the teleconference, Plaintiff's counsel made a meaningful attempt to resolve the underlying legal issues by agreement, including advising the Vice President's counsel that Plaintiffs intended to seek immediate injunctive relief in the event the parties did not agree,' Gohmert's filing said. 'Those discussions were not successful in reaching an agreement and this lawsuit was filed.'

The group, which includes Arizona Republican Party Chair Kelli Ward, is suing Pence because they want Texas-based U.S. District Judge Jeremy Kernodle to grant the vice president expanded powers to choose pro-Trump electors.

Kernodle, so far, as agreed to expedite proceedings, but did not agree to hold a hearing on the case.

The suit argues that the Electoral Count Act, which was passed in 1887, violates the 12th Amendment, which outlines the procedure for electing the president and vice president.

The amendment, which was ratified in 1804, says that the 'President of the Senate shall, in the presence of the Senate and House of Representatives, open all the certificates and the votes shall be counted.'

On December 14, when Electoral College electors were meeting in state capitals around the nation, groups of Republican 'electors' did so in states that Trump didn't win and cast votes for him.

Among those states was Arizona and the lawsuit argues that Pence, as president of the Senate, should be able to choose which set of electors' votes count.

'That, with respect to competing slates of electors from the State of Arizona or other Contested States, the Twelfth Amendment contains the exclusive dispute resolution mechanisms, namely, that (i) Vice-President Pence determines which slate of electors' votes count, or neither, for that State,' the lawsuit says.

A thread from the GOP-leaning polling firm Rasmussen Reports suggested Pence could also simply refuse to open and read the results from states that Trump and his allies have claimed were plagued by widespread voter fraud, of which there is no evidence.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has approved new legislation that could see foreign social media companies punished for discriminating against the country’s media outlets. This year, RT and Sputnik have been censored on Twitter.

The bill explicitly forbids censorship based on reasons such as nationality, language, and origin, as well as “in connection with the introduction of political or economic sanctions against Russia.”

Once found guilty, a foreign network, such as YouTube or Facebook, could be subject to sanctions in the form of fines, the slowing down of traffic, or even a complete block.

Earlier this year, US tech giant Twitter took action against RT and other publicly-funded Russian media outlets, subjecting their accounts to a shadow ban. This means that they are now undiscoverable via the website’s search function.

As well as making tweets much harder to find, Twitter also labeled several Russian sources as “state-affiliated media,” despite not doing so for Western equivalents, such as America’s state-run RFE/RL and the British government-backed BBC.

After the bill was proposed, President Putin noted that the country should not “shoot itself in the foot” with any retaliatory actions against foreign media, but it is “absolutely obvious and understandable to any sane person” that these companies are discriminating against Russian outlets.

The law was introduced last month by a group of parliamentarians, including MP Alexander Khinshtein and Senator Aleksey Pushkov. According to Pushkov, the law wasn’t written with the aim of blocking the websites, but to introduce legal responsibility for censorship.

Pfizer warned today there is 'no data' to show a single dose of its coronavirus vaccine provides long-term protection, after the UK scrapped its original jab rollout plan.

The UK medical regulator is now recommending Covid jabs are given in two doses three months apart, rather than over the intended four-week period, to allow millions more people to be immunised over a shorter time period.

The strategy will apply to both Pfizer/BioNTech's vaccine and the newly approved jab by Oxford/AstraZeneca, despite limited data around the effectiveness of the initial doses.

It is a direct response to spiking Covid cases and hospitalisations across the UK that are being driven by a new, highly-infectious strain that emerged in the South East England in September.

Virtually the whole of England is facing brutal lockdown until the spring, with Covid vaccines the only hope of ending the devastation.

Health bosses now want to give as many people as possible an initial dose, rather than holding back the second doses, so more of the population can enjoy at least some protection.

AstraZeneca praised the move and revealed it had tested the three-month strategy on a small sub-group of trialists in its studies.

But Pfizer said there was 'no data' in its studies to show its vaccine protects against Covid when taken 12 weeks apart.

In a thinly-veiled swipe at the UK, the US firm warned that any 'alternative' dosing regimens should be closely monitored by health authorities.

'Data from the phase three study demonstrated that, although partial protection from the vaccine appears to begin as early as 12 days after the first dose, two doses of the vaccine are required to provide the maximum protection against the disease, a vaccine efficacy of 95 per cent,' Pfizer said in a statement.

'There are no data to demonstrate that protection after the first dose is sustained after 21 days.'
