That's a question that not enough people ask themselves. I was raised in a big city until high school and realized at an early age that most cities are closed parasitic loops that produce virtually nothing of actual value but consume much in pointless living.
I realized then I had to get out and for the last 40 years I've been farming, ranching, gardening, running a repair shop and producing fine furniture of my own design.
I feed my extended family, share my produce with my neighbors, sell my surplus, feeding even more people, fix customers equipment and utilize lumber I mill myself from a neighbors tree service.
My city bound family thinks I'm eccentric, or crazy.
