It's the "believe on" that irks me. I believe IN Jesus and lean ON Him. Sometimes I think clunky phrasing like that is just a shallow signifier people use to sound elect or whatever. A kind of folksy-pretentiousness. Or I'm just too Yankee to "get" Southern regligiosity.
