Rome, Italy anon here. To be fair, Pope Francis has had pretty serious back problems for years, so this isn't all that shocking. You've probably seen the clumsy way that he lumbers along, rather like a big bear. It's always been because of his sciatica.

Now if we suddenly see a number of other Vatican officials bowing out of public events for "health reasons" all at once, THAT will merit a closer look

If you want to talk about slave labor, please don't forget the ENTIRE FUCKING CHOCOLATE INDUSTRY! Truly hell on earth, for little kids in Ivory Coast and neighboring countries.

In 2011 the BBC did an excellent expose of Cadbury's tacit acquiescence in cocoa plantations' use of child slave labor.

(It's amazing what fine reporting journalists can actually produce when they feel like working)

The BBC video report is called "The Bitter Truth," on YT in several parts, here's the first one https://hooktube.com/watch?v=LD85fPzLUjo

Fat-cat execs at Nestle, Hershey and the rest will burn in hell, they're ALL complicit. When you see what they do to these poor children you will never want to eat chocolate again, I swear
