Question for Lawf ags out there. If Lin were hired by the white hats to disseminate this information (true or false) would he be indemnified from prosecution for false or defamatory claims?

Well, since what Lin says seems quite defamatory (Roberts) and Lin is not likely being indemnified by white hats, then it appears most probable he is simply telling (or has been told by credible sources) the truth.
