I don't dispute that. Only that the switch can happen in enough time ahead of the joint session of Congress on Jan 6. It's just not possible. It needs Congressional confirmation.
It still requires Congress to give the green light on a VP replacement. There aren't enough MAGA Republicans in Senate to push it through fast enough ahead of Jan 6. Pompeo and Flynn still needed the votes; the hearings themselves are legally optional.
