Federal Judge Dismisses Rep. Gohmert’s Election Lawsuit Against VP Mike Pence — Gohmert Says Dismissal Will Be Appealed
Rep. Louie Gohmert has filed a new document in the lawsuit brought on by him and other Republicans to stop the Democrats from stealing the 2020 election.
The new filing argues that Vice President Mike Pence has the authority to count Republican electors in contested states, or ignore the electors from those states altogether.
The filing asked that the court displace Congress’s longstanding role in counting the votes of the Electoral College in Presidential elections, which would bring a “peaceful conclusion” to the presidential election process.
On New Year’s Day Judge Jeremy Kernodle ruled that Republican lawmakers, led by Representative Louie Gohmert of Texas, lacked the proper standing to sue Mr. Pence in the matter.
Americans no longer have proper standing in their elections.
The New York Times reported:
A federal judge on Friday dismissed a lawsuit led by President Trump’s allies in Congress that aimed to pressure Vice President Mike Pence to overturn the results of the election, dealing a blow to lawmakers’ last-ditch effort to challenge President-elect Joseph R. Biden Jr.’s victory.
Judge Jeremy D. Kernodle of the Eastern District of Texas ruled that Republican lawmakers, led by Representative Louie Gohmert of Texas, lacked the proper standing to sue Mr. Pence in the matter. The lawsuit challenged the more than century-old law that governs the Electoral College process, in an attempt to expand an otherwise ceremonial role into one with the power to reject electoral votes that were cast for Mr. Biden.
As the presiding officer of the Senate, Mr. Pence has the responsibility of opening and tallying envelopes sent from each state and announcing their electoral results when Congress meets on Jan. 6 to certify Mr. Biden’s victory. Mr. Gohmert, along with his colleagues and electors in Arizona, had hoped that the lawsuit, filed on Sunday, could force Mr. Pence to take on an expanded role, opening the vice president up to pressure to invalidate the election results.
Rep. Louie Gohmert joined Emerald Robinson on Newsmax to discuss the ruling.
Gohmert will appeal the dismissal.

Deception And Suppression: A Year Of Beijing's Virus Coverup
Around this time last year, Chinese authorities acknowledged that an “unknown” form of pneumonia was spreading in the city of Wuhan.
But it was already too late. What we now know as COVID-19 had already broken out across the city and possibly beyond.
In the months that followed, authorities bungled prevention measures and covered up the number of infections. They enacted travel restrictions weeks too late - as Chinese travelers seeded outbreaks around the world - and prevented international researchers from visiting the country to investigate the origin of the virus that causes COVID-19.
A global pandemic ensued that has claimed millions of lives, brought economies to a halt, and disrupted people’s livelihoods.

As the virus spread around the world, the regime in Beijing began an aggressive campaign to spread disinformation claiming that the virus didn’t originate in China; that propaganda offensive continues today.
Meanwhile, the regime punished citizens who dared to publicize information that didn’t fit its narrative: that authoritarian control had succeeded in containing the disease.
But in interviews with The Epoch Times, citizens tell of a different reality: draconian lockdown measures have deprived them of basic rights, while authorities continue to suppress information about new clusters around the country.
As a new wave now hits Beijing and parts of northeastern China, locals are once again kept in the dark as authorities seal off neighborhood after neighborhood.

Funny how Lin Wood keeps accusing all these people of serious crimes yet none of them have spoken out about it or filed law suits
Selena Gomez slams social media: 'Facebook is going to be responsible for thousands of deaths'
Selena Gomez is speaking out about Facebook and its tendency to help the spread of potentially-harmful misinformation.
The 29-year-old singer posted a tweet calling out the social media giant for being irresponsibly for the way it allows information to be spread on the platform, particularly around COVID-19 and its vaccine.
"Scientific disinformation has and will cost lives," Gomez wrote, linking to a BBC News interview with the Center for Countering Digital Hate CEO Imi Ahmed.
Scientific disinformation has and will cost lives. @Facebook said they don’t allow lies about COVID and vaccines to be spread on their platforms. So how come all of this is still happening? Facebook is going to be responsible for thousands of deaths if they don’t take action now! https://t.co/IAtDpNT5Tt

"Facebook said they don't allow lies about COVID and vaccines to be spread on their platforms," she continued. "So how come all of this is still happening? Facebook is going to be responsible for thousands of deaths if they don't take action now!"
This isn't the first time the 'Rare' singer has shared her concerns about Facebook. In December, she wrote that that she was "speechless" after hearing that neo-Nazis were selling racist products on Facebook and sister site Instagram.

==Coast Guard suspends search for Florida-bound boat believed carrying 20 from Bahamas
The boat was scheduled to arrive in Florida on Tuesday.==
The U.S. Coast Guard on Friday suspended a search for a boat believed to be carrying about 20 people that failed to return to Florida after traveling from the Bahamas.
Searchers covered about 17,000 square miles between the Bahamas and South Florida for more than three days before calling off the operation.
The boat left Bimini in the Bahamas on Monday with a destination of Lake Worth, Fla., then disappeared, Coast Guard officials said. Lake Worth is about 63 miles north of Miami.
"Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the missing people," said Capt. Stephen Burdian, chief of response for the Coast Guard’s seventh district. "I encourage anyone with information about the people aboard to contact us as soon as possible."
The Coast Guard did not identify any passengers, but about 20 people were thought to be aboard the lost 29-foot vessel. The boat was scheduled to arrive in Florida on Tuesday.
The boat, a Mako Cuddy Cabin vessel, is typically used for recreation. The Coast Guard has not ruled out the possibility that the boat was a smuggling vessel.
"We don’t know if it is or not," Coast Guard Petty Officer Jose Hernandez told the Sun-Sentinel of South Florida. "Regardless, the Coast Guard is committed to the safety of all mariners. We don’t want any lives lost at sea."
The Coast Guard carried out the search with assistance from the Royal Bahamas Defense Force and the Bahamas Air Sea Rescue.

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian takes swipe at Victoria with huge COVID-19 boast
After announcing a slew of harsh new restrictions across the state, Premier Gladys Berejiklian has made a thinly-veiled jab at Victoria’s strategy.
After a tense briefing on Saturday morning, NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian delivered some very confident words about the state’s coronavirus strategy.
“New South Wales has proven to be one of the best places anywhere on the planet in relation to contact tracing, and in relation to the health advice we have been given,” Ms Berejiklian boasted during the hotly-anticipated press conference.
“The science of a pandemic is far from perfect. We don’t pretend that the settings we have put in place are entirely consistent or entirely consistent with what people would expect.
“But that is the nature of a pandemic. What we do know is what works.”
Her remarks were perceived by some to be a thinly-veiled dig at the Victorian strategy of handling their second wave, which saw locals and businesses in hard lockdown for just under three months.
During the briefing, the Premier reiterated that she would not tolerate the imposition of harsher-than-necessary restrictions in NSW, taking another potential jab at Victoria’s second wave strategy.
“We would never impose anything on our citizens unless we thought it was necessary,” Ms Berejiklian noted.
“The strategy very much in New South Wales is not to impose any burden on our citizens unless it is absolutely necessary but also to make sure we keep jobs and the economy, mental health, wellbeing, and a sense of normality moving forward as well as, of course, controlling the virus. And that is the balance we have always tried to strike in New South Wales. I’m incredibly proud of that.”
Ms Berejiklian’s cocky remarks come after NSW recorded a further seven locally acquired cases of coronavirus overnight, prompting a change in current restrictions.
Despite the low increase, Ms Berejiklian insisted masks will be made mandatory in the Greater Sydney area from midnight on Saturday.
