That's actually very good. It doesn't "explain itself" well, but stare at it long enough and it has a powerful message. Uses multi-year trends and makes the reasonable assumption that the stated R vote is as-stated or higher, and simply projects the total vote total from the previous data, and subtracts the R vote from the projected total to get the D vote.
