Jake Tapper Slams Republicans Challenging Biden Electors: “Sedition Caucus”, “Bloodless Coup”, “Traitors”

CNN anchor Jake Tapper blasted Republicans on his Sunday talking head show State of the Union for organizing a challenge to Biden electors for Wednesday’s joint session of Congress to certify the votes of the Electoral College. Tapper threw out words like sedition, coup and traitors to describe the effort by Republicans to ensure the 2020 presidential election was legitimate.

Tapper said he had invited all twelve Republican senators who have said they will challenge Biden electors and that all had declined or did not respond when asked to appear on State of the Union. Tapper cited a Civil War era quote from Ulysses S. Grant, “There are two parties now, traitors and patriots.”

The state of our union is facing a perilous start to 2021. We’re beginning the year with the pandemic at its most alarming level yet. December was the deadliest month of the pandemic so far in the U.S. And the race to vaccinate Americans is stumbling out of the gate, just more than four million vaccinations have actually been administered–not even close to the goal of twenty million shots in arms by the beginning of the new year.

And with around 3,000 Americans dying every day, what are the president and a big chunk of Congressional Republicans focused on? Undermining the results of the election, essentially a bloodless coup, leading the Republican Party to a state of turmoil. Saturday, eleven Republican senators said they would vote against counting electoral votes in Congress next week, calling for a quote emergency ten day audit of election returns despite there being (psychosomatic cough?), pardon me, despite there being no evidence of widespread voter fraud.

he group is following the lead of Senator Josh Hawley who says he will formally object to Biden’s decisive win despite zero credible evidence that would justify such a move. Zero!

Senator Ben Sasse of Nebraska slammed Hawley and other members of the sedition caucus saying, “Adults don’t point a loaded gun at the heart of legitimate self government.”

Late Saturday Senator Mitt Romney said in a blistering statement, “I could never have imagined seeing these things in the greatest democracy in the world. Has ambition so eclipsed principle?”

I want to note that we invited each of the 12 senators involved in plotting this disgraceful effort to come on the show this morning to try to defend and explain their position. Each of them declined or failed to respond. It all recalls what Ulysses S. Grant once wrote in 1861, “There are but two parties now: traitors and patriots.” How would you describe the parties today?”

Top US Official Says 'Growing Body Of Evidence' Shows COVID-19 Leaked From Chinese Lab

The most 'credible' theory about the origin of COVID-19 is that it escaped from a Chinese laboratory, according to US National Security Adviser Matthew Pottinger, who made the comment during a Zoom meeting with UK officials.

"There is a growing body of evidence that the lab is likely the most credible source of the virus," said Pottinger, referring to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, according to the Daily Mail, which notes that 'even China's leaders openly admit their previous claims that the virus originated in a Wuhan market are false.'

Pottinger was one of the first US officials to sound the alarm at the White House over the origins of the virus in January 2020, when he initially suspected that the outbreak originated in a Chinese lab - after which Pottinger ordered US intelligence agencies to search for evidence. Good thing he kept this theory to himself, or Twitter may have banned him.

He also slammed the World Health Organization's probe as a ruse - saying "MPs around the world have a moral role to play in exposing the WHO investigation as a Potemkin exercise," referring to the facade villages created in 18th Century Crimea to convince the visiting Russian Empress Catherine the Great that the region was doing well.

Iain Duncan Smith, the former Tory Party leader who attended the meeting, said Mr Pottinger's comments represented a 'stiffening' of the US position on the theory that the virus came from a leak at the laboratory, amid reports that the Americans are talking to a whistleblower from the Wuhan institute.

'I was told the US have an ex-scientist from the laboratory in America at the moment,' he said. 'That was what I heard a few weeks ago.

'I was led to believe this is how they have been able to stiffen up their position on how this outbreak originated.'

He added that Beijing's refusal to allow journalists to visit the laboratory only served to increase suspicion that it was 'ground zero' for the pandemic. 'The truth is there are people who have been in those labs who maintain that this is the case,' he said.

'We don't know what they have been doing in that laboratory. They may well have been fiddling with bat coronaviruses and looking at them and they made a mistake. I've spoken to various people who believe that to be the case.' -Daily Mail

"Even establishment figures in Beijing have openly dismissed the wet market story," Pottinger told the call participants.

Liberal Hack Chuck Todd Calls GOP Sen. Johnson an “Arsonist” for Challenging Election Fraud

Democrats shut down counting in six swing states on election night where President Trump was winning in a landslide.

They manufactured votes for only Joe Biden, pulled them from stashed suitcases or vans, blocked GOP observers in Michigan, Georgia, Arizona and Pennsylvania for hours if not days.

Democrat officials even threatened to jail President Trump if he sent in uncertified poll watchers into the Philly vote counting facility.

They were caught running Biden ballots through the machines three to five times.

Several Democrat state leaders “flagrantly violated” the election laws before the election to favor Joe Biden.

President Trump won more blacks, Hispanics, gays and immigrants but was curiously defeated?

Trump won all of the battleground races, every bellwether county but one and shattered the popular vote record.

Lawyer for Reagan, Bush argues that Barack Obama should be attorney general in Biden administration

'Besides, it's perfect preparation for subsequent additional public service on the Supreme Court'

Should President-elect Joe Biden appoint former President Barack Obama to be his attorney general? That's what a former attorney for two former Republican presidents is advocating.

Douglas Kmiec, professor emeritus of constitutional law at Pepperdine University School of Law who served in the Office of Legal Counsel for Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W Bush, claimed in an essay for The Hill that appointing Obama as head of the Justice Department would "re-establish the rule of law."

According to Kmiec, Biden, as president, "will need to be highly capable at reassuring estranged voters — Democrat, Republican or independent — that he is governing in the national interest" — and appointing Obama as attorney general accomplishes such a monumental task.

Kmiec explained:

Biden's almost-plagiarized overuse of the red state/blue state metaphor from the 2008 election needs a definite boost of authenticity and actual demonstration of applied fairness. Instead of continuing to borrow Barack Obama's trade line, he needs Obama himself. The fastest way to re-establish the rule of law is for Biden to nominate Obama as attorney general. If Biden simultaneously kept Christopher Wray as head of the FBI and made Justice's current inspector general, Michael Horowitz, head of its Office of Legal Counsel, he would remove much division, doubt and uncertainty.

Still, Kmiec, who served as ambassador to Malta in the Obama administration, admitted such an appointment would be "unprecedented" — but called it "necessary."

Surprisingly, Kmiec suggested that Obama serving as attorney general would serve as the perfect springboard for Obama to later serve on the Supreme Court.

"We have never had a former president take on the leadership of an executive department for a successor president, but nothing precludes it, save, possibly, Michelle Obama. We must leave those domestic relations to the former president — but [Obama] has the intelligence, youth and character to do the job," Kmiec wrote.

"Besides, it's perfect preparation for subsequent additional public service on the Supreme Court," he added.

Who is Biden considering for AG?

According to CNN, the top contenders for the job are outgoing-Sen. Doug Jones (D-Ala.), federal appeals court Judge Merrick Garland, and former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) is reportedly also under consideration for the job, although he has indicated that he is not interested in working for the Biden administration.

Humans of the GREAT RESET: What the future MIGHT look like in 2021 – if the controlling elites have their way

With vaccine rollouts underway, humanity looks set to win the fight against the coronavirus. But some elites planning a post-coronavirus ‘Great Reset’ don’t want to go back to normal. Here’s what they have planned instead.

As lockdowns and mask mandates became a part of daily life over the last year, politicians the world over asked their citizenry to accept “The New Normal.” The phrase became ubiquitous, but as vaccines inched closer to deployment, that phrase was replaced with a new one, “The Great Reset,” used to describe the monumental changes to human society needed in a post-coronavirus world.

Unveiled in May by Britain’s Prince Charles and the World Economic Forum’s Klaus Schwab, the ‘Great Reset’ is an ambitious plan to create a more equal, cashless, integrated and sustainable global society. World leaders have seemingly signed up to the plan, with its catchphrase, “Build Back Better” featured prominently in incoming US President Joe Biden’s campaign messaging.

Overdue liberalization, or technocratic New World Order? Opinion on the plan is divided between those who think it’s the shot in the arm the world needs, and those who think it will make Cyberpunk 2077 look like a utopian dreamworld. Whatever your opinion, here’s a look at the ‘New Normal’ that awaits in 2021 and beyond.

Vaccine passports for everyone

Even the World Economic Forum (WEF) has acknowledged that issuing citizens with immunity passports, or certificates of vaccination, could prove “controversial.” That hasn't stopped governments toying with the idea though. Britain is “exploring” the idea of creating a digital “freedom passport” database that would only grant access to public places to people who can prove a negative Covid test, while Ireland and Israel have discussed banning the unvaccinated from certain spaces. France may ban the unvaccinated from public transport.

The real and unreal blur – discussion is censored

With WEF members literally funding their own activist movements, it’s going to be tough to discern top-down from grassroots change. In the case of the WEF’s push for a new environmentalism, Greta Thunberg and British Petroleum are on the same team. When it comes to reimagining capitalism, Pope Francis and Mastercard are working together to give corporations a greater say in cultural and political issues. Regarding health policy, the WEF and indeed much of the world’s media, seems okay with letting Bill Gates decide the future of medicine and disease prevention.

Discuss any of the contradictions and problems inherent in these post-Covid predictions, however, and you’re labeled a conspiracy theorist. With the world’s social media giants all cracking down on conspiracy content, it remains to be seen where the line between “dangerous” misinformation and legitimate critique will be drawn in 2021.

However, it is no stretch to say that in 2021, Silicon Valley will have more say over what’s not to discuss. In 2020 alone, Twitter censored the president of the United States and banned a national newspaper for reporting damaging information on his opponent. When it comes to content branded as “conspiracy theory,” discussion will in all likelihood be more, not less, restricted from here on out.

Amid the global upheaval brought on by the coronavirus pandemic, it’s easy to imagine world leaders and corporations taking advantage of the chaos to impose more controls over the populace. Prince Charles himself even described our turbulent times as a “golden opportunity” to make good on “big visions of change.”

However, the movers and shakers who travel every year to the World Economic Forum’s summit in Davos have boasted about their “great” plans before, from 2009’s “Shaping the Post-Crisis World,” to 2012’s “The Great Transformation.” The actual implementation of the ‘Great Reset’ will depend on the imagination and ambition of governments and their corporate partners, and how well this squares against economic necessity and public resistance.

The most likely outcome is that the reset gets rolled out in a piecemeal fashion. Regardless, the WEF’s suggestions will surely continue to shape discussion long after the threat of the coronavirus subsides.

‘When in doubt, call it Covid’: Trump accuses CDC of inflating figures as US passes 20 million coronavirus cases

Donald Trump has lashed out at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, claiming the health agency has exaggerated the pandemic in the US by using a broad definition of what constitutes a Covid-19 case or death.

“The number of cases and deaths of the China Virus is far exaggerated in the United States because of @CDCgov’s ridiculous method of determination compared to other countries, many of whom report, purposely, very inaccurately and low. ‘When in doubt, call it Covid.” Fake News!’” Trump tweeted on Sunday.

The outburst comes as the United States surpasses 20 million Covid-19 cases that have been linked to 350,000 deaths since the start of the health crisis.

The US president is not wrong in pointing out that other countries count coronavirus cases differently, however. Starting in April, the CDC began including “probable” cases and deaths in its tallies, although some states choose not to report such figures. A “probable” case or death means that health workers can label someone as Covid-19 positive even if they haven’t been tested, as long as the patient’s symptoms meet the “clinical criteria” of the virus.

‘Exceptional service’: Washington Post journalists get $2,021 bonuses after insisting Americans don’t need Covid-19 relief checks READ MORE: ‘Exceptional service’: Washington Post journalists get $2,021 bonuses after insisting Americans don’t need Covid-19 relief checks

Deborah Birx, a member of the White House Covid-19 taskforce who is stepping down from her post once Trump leaves office, acknowledged back in April that “in this country we’ve taken a very liberal approach to [Covid-19] mortality.” She noted that, unlike other nations, “if someone dies with Covid-19 we are counting that as a Covid-19 death,” even if it’s unclear whether the virus was the cause of the fatality.

This policy is wildly different from how China tabulates coronavirus cases, for example. China does not count asymptomatic carriers of the virus in its tally of confirmed cases, and as a result its official number of cases are far lower than what might be expected.

Fauci fires back after Trump claims US COVID-19 death toll ‘exaggerated’

President Trump on Sunday claimed the US COVID-19 death toll is “exaggerated” — and was immediately rebuked by Dr. Anthony Fauci.

“The deaths are real deaths. All you need to do is go out into the trenches go to the hospitals, see what the healthcare workers are dealing with,” Fauci said Sunday on ABC News’ “This Week.”

“They are under very stressful situations in many areas of the country. The hospital beds are stretched, people are running out of beds, running out of trained personnel who are exhausted,” Fauci said.

“Right now, that’s real. That’s not fake, that’s real,” he said.

Trump had made the unsubstantiated claim about the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention an hour earlier on Twitter.

“The number of cases and deaths of the China Virus is far exaggerated in the United States because of @CDCgov’s ridiculous method of determination compared to other countries, many of whom report, purposely, very inaccurately and low. ‘When in doubt, call it Covid.’ Fake News!” the president posted on Twitter.

The death toll in the US has surpassed 350,000 and health experts predict the country will experience another surge of cases and deaths because of the millions who traveled over the holidays.

A number of states have reported a record number of coronavirus cases in the past few days — including North Carolina and Arizona.

And funeral homes in South California said they have been turning away grieving families because they can’t take care of the bodies quickly enough.

Two vaccines — one from Pfizer and one from Moderna — have received emergency use authorization by the Food and Drug Administration.

But while millions of doses have been distributed, the nation is lagging on getting the shots getting into people’s arms.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which tracks the vaccines, said 13,071,925 doses have been distributed, but just 4,225,756 have been inoculated as of Saturday.
