In California, (apparently since Dec 2020) all unemployment benefits now go through the state system of this thing called, ID.me. Anyone have info/intel on this? A friend of mine (out of work) re-applied for Unemployment Benefits in CA and while doing so was asked for a "live picture" and then subjected to a series of flashing lights…They turned their computer off IMMEDIATELY for fear of biometrics scan or retina data collection… To me, this is very concerning.

Are we seeing the 1st attempts to gather biometric data / retinal scans of the general public? sure looks like Commie CA is leading the way…

Adding to my own thread here. Did some more digging on ID.me, and apparently the flashing lights are suppose to protect you against having someone "steal your identity". What's interesting is that you can google and find this in search results or using duck duck go, but when you click on actual page - IT IS GONE FROM THE ID.Me website.
