CSPAN is saying Pelosi won Speaker with 216 votes. It takes 217.
They are stealing the Speaker like they stole the presidency.
The constitution makes the rules and for there to be a majority requires 217 not 216 and Congress can't change that with any rule.
I know it sux anon, but the Dems won 222 seats. Our only hope what that more than 5 would defect.
Only 429 voted and it should be 435 so I'm not sure why they are calling her the winner.
She needed 218 to win, but some members are not present like the Congressman who died several days ago so I guess they are using that in the calculation.
