Why is the Chinese vote particularly important in Georgia's local elections on February 3rd?
By North American Life Jun January 22, 2015
One of the reasons we didn't vote in the past was that "one more vote for me, one less vote for me has no effect on the outcome of the election". This time it's different. In the first round, there were only two candidates left in the 50th District of the House of Representatives, Brad Raffensberger and Kelly Stewart. They're all conservative Republicans, and there's almost no difference in politics. Only 2,500 of the 25,000 voters cast ballots in the first round, with Brad trailing Kelley by only 26 votes.
Brad reached out to the Asian community to understand and listen to our voices. He visited the downtown Chinese Dance and Culture School the previous weekend, the Modern Chinese School in Atlanta, where more than 500 students attended on Saturday, and on Sunday hosted 30 Chinese at home to talk about his governing philosophy. As a city councillor, he also attended the ceremony of honor of my Boy Scouts team and spoke on behalf of the city government.
