At the time, the Board of Trustees commissioned former FBI agent Freeh to develop the Freeh Report - where the school paid him millions to essentially write up a cushy version of the story that saved face for the Board and the school, while burying Joe Pa. The Board was stacked with big corporate names, including Merck affiliated among others. I am not saying he was innocent; what I’m saying is that there was tons of sketchy shit going on around the event.
