UNDER THE INFLUENCE!

Robert Conrad Caught In Brutal Booze Binge

TV legend seen stumbling drunk around Malibu bars!

By Radar Online

Robert Conrad spends his sad last days barhopping around Malibu — bossing around patrons while pretending to be the real-life incarnation of the TV characters he once played.

That is the tragic finding of an undercover National ENQUIRER investigation that tailed “The Wild Wild West” and “Black Sheep Squadron” actor from one watering hole to the next and drinking himself into oblivion. “Robert goes to three or four places where the staff covers up for him,” our eyewitness revealed. “He’s got the early stages of dementia, and when he walks in he’s either abusive to other patrons or pretends to be one of his old TV characters. But by the time he leaves, he often can’t walk at all!”

The ENQUIRER recently caught 82-year-old Robert as he collapsed in a boozy stupor outside one of his regular haunts. Shockingly, staffers enabled the incident! “All the waiters came over to hug Robert and say hello, and he was instantly served a margarita,” our on-scene spy spilled. “His assistant refused to get him more booze, reminding him about his medication. But as soon as his assistant left, Robert put his arm up and the bartender brought him a chardonnay.”

Since crashing head-on into another car while drunk in 2003, Robert needs painkillers — and he had to practically be carried out of the restaurant. Robert was helped to a bench, and promptly tumbled off — hitting his head. But he brushed off the incident, saying: “I had two drinks — a margarita and a chardonnay. I went to the front of the restaurant and I fell over. I had no damage. I had no marks on my face

It seems he was one of the good ones

Actor Robert Conrad died on Feb. 8, 2020, People reported. He was 84 years old. The Chicago-born actor worked as a milkman and a nightclub singer before moving to Los Angeles to pursue stardom. He broke into the business in 1959 on Hawaiian Eye, then became a star as the titular Secret Service agent James T. West in The Wild Wild West from 1965 through 1969. Conrad's other memorable projects included Baa Baa Black Sheep (syndicated as Black Sheep Squadron), Samurai Cowboy, and Dead Above Ground. Conrad was also a singer in the 1950s and 1960s. He received a Distinguished Service Award in Broadcasting and is a member of the Stuntmen's Hall of Fame.

A consummate tough guy, Conrad performed his own stunts onThe Wild Wild West, which he didn't particularly enjoy, considering he once sustained a skull fracture after falling 15 feet onto concrete while shooting a fight scene.

Conrad is survived by eight children and 18 grandchildren from his two wives, Joan Kenlay and LaVelda Fann, the latter of whom he pursued while he was still married to the former … and as soon as Fann turned 18 (to his 43). "That wasn't robbing the cradle, it was grand theft," he joked to People in 1988.

Conrad held a similarly breezy view of his on-screen legacy. "I did my acting tongue in cheek," he once said (via The Hollywood Reporter), adding, "I didn't take any of it seriously. The last year, I didn't even read the scripts, I just read my part. And it worked."

2nd wife not so good

The wife of Wild Wild West star Robert Conrad was arrested on drug charges after the couple’s three daughters caught her smoking crack cocaine and called police, The ENQUIRER has learned exclusively.

Police arrived at the couple’s luxury home in Thousand Oaks, Calif., shortly before 5 a.m. on Sept. 11, according to an official report.

Actress LaVelda Conrad, 48, was taken to the county jail in Ventura, Calif., and held on $10,000 bail. A police mug shot taken after her arrest shows her looking shockingly thin and with her hair shaved to a stubble.

"A family member reported that Mrs. Conrad was under the influence of drugs at her residence," Ventura County Sheriff’s Captain Ross Bonfiglio told The ENQUIRER. "Mrs. Conrad was arrested on probable cause."

She was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police refused to reveal who made the call from the house, but a source close to the family told The ENQUIRER it was the couple’s daughters.

Conrad, 79, married LaVelda in 1977, and they have three daughters – Kaja, 25, Camille, 23, and 21-year-old Chelsea.

Besides using crack cocaine, LaVelda has been smoking crystal meth and taking prescription drugs, according to the insider.

LaVelda, who once weighed 120 pounds, is now down to about 90 pounds, said the source.

"When police came, Robert woke up, and even though in his heart he did not want LaVelda removed, he didn’t put up a fight and he let the cops take her away," the source revealed.
